    Kim Kardashian helped cook her favourite snack – deep-fried biscuits – just moments after plugging an ad campaign for healthy fast food.

    The reality TV star, who promotes Carl Jr’s salads in a new US advert, donned a paper hat to deep-fry Oreos with chef Guy Fieri on the Jay Leno Show.

    Having previously insisted the fast-food chain’s salads were in keeping with her new fitness regime, Miss Kardashian waxed lyrical about the battered delights.

    “Yummy. Where’s the vanilla ice-cream. You need vanilla ice-cream,” she said.

    And asked whether she cooks at home, she confessed: “I cook a really good fried chicken and macaroni cheese – all the healthy stuff.”

    Miss Kardashian, 29, debuted the sexy Carl’s Jr ad during her appearance on Jay Leno’s show.

    Sprawling on a bed in a low-cut nightgown, the TV star sensually tucks into the salad before ‘accidentally’ dripping dressing past her cleavage.

    “I’m such a neat freak. Everything’s got to be clean, crisp and tasty. And while the best things in life are messy, it’s fun to get clean,” her voiceover says.

    She then strips off to soak in a bubble bath – while still nibbling on the salad.

    “Who said salads can’t be hot?” a separate voiceover says.

    Miss Kardashian told Leno that the ad took a full day to shoot and around 500 takes.

  • Gordon Ramsay to front US MasterChef for Fox TV

    Gordon Ramsay is taking another top British show to the US – the BBC’s long-running series, MasterChef.

    The celebrity chef will star in and co-produce the American version of the show – which first aired in the UK in 1990 – on Fox TV.

    “[It's] a huge reality format that works great in other countries, plus Gordon Ramsay guarantees success,” said Mike Darnell, president of alternative entertainment at Fox.

    “Gordon is like our CSI.”

    The executive producer of the show, Howard T Owens, added: “This is a huge, nationwide search for the best amateur chef in America.

    “It’s about people who are lawyers, construction workers and stay-at-home mums, but whose real passion is to make great food.

    “This is their shot to prove they have what it takes.”

    An Australian edition of the show has already been very successful – the series finale was one of the country’s most-watched programmes in a decade, when it aired earlier this year.

    MasterChef is the third series that Ramsay will front in the US for Fox TV.

    He also appears in Hell’s Kitchens and Kitchen Nightmares.

    Billy Joel’s ex-wife Katie Lee has spoken about the pain of their split – but insisted: “We’ve remained friends.

    “Just because you’ve split up doesn’t mean those feelings just end.

    “I really want him to be happy and I think he wants the same for me.”

    The couple’s split this summer came as a shock to fans of the Piano Man who thought he had finally settled down.

    Promoting her new cook book on the Rachael Ray Show, Katie Lee did not go into details behind the split. But she insisted: “Ninety-nine percent of what you read isn’t true. So I don’t read it – I don’t introduce that negativity into my life.”

    Of the split, she added: “It is hard to go through – it’s not easy – and doing it in front of everybody makes it even harder.

    “But I have a great support group. People I didn’t even know reached out to me on Facebook and Twitter and sent me their favourite break-up recipes!”

  • Gordon Ramsay given $800,000 villa

    Gordon Ramsay has boasted about being given an $800,000 villa on Australia’s Gold Coast.

    Speaking to 150 guests, who paid $300 each to watch him cook at the Hyatt Regency hotel, the chef said: “The good news is I’m getting a new home on the Gold Coast. It’s actually being given to me. It’s all being finalised now. It’s f****** lovely. The family will love it there.”

    He then moaned about how he gets given thousands of dollars-worth of cooking equipment.

    The foul-mouthed Hell’s Kitchen star said: “I’ve worked bloody hard to build up my career and make money so I can buy things like the best pots and pans, utensils and so on. Now I’m at the stage where it all gets given to me. Even the kids have got these luxury fridges in their bedrooms. It’s crazy.”

    He also talked about how he will visit “little cafes, chippies and tea rooms” when his Kitchen Nightmares show returns to UK television screens later this year.
