Larry King quits US talk show
Larry King is hanging up his famous braces and ending his talk show after 25 years.
The 76-year-old TV star said he had decided to call time on Larry King Live so he could spend more time with his family.
But the father-of-five assured fans he was not leaving US TV altogether and would still be hosting special shows on news network CNN.
“Twenty five years ago I sat across this table from New York Governor Mario Cuomo for the first broadcast of Larry King Live,” he wrote on his blog.
“Now, decades later, I talked to the guys here at CNN and I told them I would like to end Larry King Live, the nightly show, this fall.
“CNN has graciously accepted, giving me more time for my wife and I to get to the kids’ little league games.”
His announcement comes less than three months after he and wife Shawn Southwick had a mystery bust-up which resulted in them both filing for divorce.
The couple, who have been married for 12 years, have since reconciled and called off the split.
King, who is recognised as one of the premier broadcasters in the US, revealed he was ending his show just hours before he went on air.
His announcement comes amidst speculation that both Piers Morgan and Katie Couric could be in the running to take over the coveted TV slot.

Jon Hamm and Jennifer Westfeldt ‘talking about’ having kids
Mad Men star Jon Hamm is ‘talking about’ starting a family with longtime girlfriend Jennifer Westfeldt.
Westfeldt, 40, has been dating the actor for the past 12 years after meeting on the set of Lipschtick.
The actress, who is best known for starring in and co-writing 2001 flick Kissing Jessica Stein, admitted that she sees herself as married to the actor.
She told In Touch: “We have always felt married. We just had our 12-year anniversary last week, and we have a house and a dog!
“At some point we may, but it doesn’t matter to us one way or the other.”
Asked about starting a family, she said: “It’s definitely something we’re talking about.”

Sandra Bullock plays mum to Jesse James’ kids while he is in rehab
Sandra Bullock has fuelled rumours she’s standing by cheating husband Jesse James as he battles sex addiction in rehab – by looking after his children.
The Oscar-winning actress has reportedly taken his three children under her wing, and has them currently living with her while James has checked himself into the Sierra Tucson clinic in Arizona.
Sources close to the couple insist this signals a “positive” outlook for their marriage as she looks after James’ eldest kids – Chandler, 15, and Jesse Jr, 12 – from his marriage to first wife Karla, and six-year-old Sunny – from his marriage to porn star Janine Lindemulder.
According to TMZ.com, Bullock is playing mum to the entire clan while the Monster Garage star tries to make amends for his alleged flings with at least five women.
James’ publicist has revealed her client will spend the whole of April in the Tucson, Arizona, clinic.
Hildie Katibah says the West Coast Choppers owner signed up to a long-term programme at the facility, which specialises in treating those with overactive libidos.
She added: “He is therefore expected to be unavailable for the next 30 to 60 days.”

Michael Douglas revealed he’s been tamed by marriage and kids
Hollywood star Michael Douglas has revealed he has finally been tamed by Welsh wife Catherine Zeta Jones.
The actor was a renowned ladies’ man in the 70s and 80s and over the years has also been dogged by rumours that he was a sex addict.
But now he has confessed that his libido has ‘finally calmed down’ since he tied the knot with Zeta Jones, who is 25 years his junior.
Douglas admitted to Esquire magazine: ‘I’m probably more comfortable with myself now, probably not leading with my libido quite as strongly, which comes with age and happiness.
“I’ve probably calmed down. It’s interesting when you have kids at my age because you’re kind of betwixt and between.
“Some of your friends, the only kids they’ve got are grandchildren.”
Douglas met Zeta-Jones in 1998 and they married two years later – and have two children together, Dylan, nine, and six-year-old Carys.
And the actor has admitted he reassessed his life at that time, adding: “I would say definitely around the time I married Catherine I started making some conscious decisions and prioritising.
“As little children entered the equation – with a bride, an actress, 25 years younger, in her prime – the important part became them.”
Douglas also spoke about his son Cameron – from his first marriage to Diana Lucker – who is currently awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to heroin possession and conspiracy to distribute drugs.
He will be sentenced later this month and faces a minimum ten-year prison sentence.
And devastated father Douglas admitted: “It’s an ongoing problem. But substance abuse has been a big problem in different areas of our family. I lost a brother five years ago.
“So it’s terribly sad and a difficult situation. But anybody who has family or friends who have been involved in substance abuse knows what a nightmare situation it and how much pain it causes.”

Guy Ritchie plans to ‘fart around’ with kids for Xmas
Guy Ritchie says he plans to “fart around in the English countryside” over Christmas after agreeing with ex-wife Madonna that he will look after their children during the festive period.The film director, who had flown to New York to collect his children for the holiday, said he was looking forward to heading back to the UK.
He said: “I’m here to pick up my kids and I’ll go back and I’ll fart about in the English countryside for the week.
“I imagine I’ll have a bonfire at some point.”
He is said to have thrashed out an agreement with Madge, 51, who looks after the pair’s two children, Rocco, nine, and adopted son David, four, in America full-time, as well as her two other kids, daughters Lourdes, 13, and Mercy, three.
In a US TV appearance on It’s On With Alexa Chung, Ritchie also said he “may be” opening a New York version of his London pub, the Punch Bowl.

Fashion star Kimora Lee Simmons says her family is the ‘most important thing’
Fashion star Kimora Lee Simmons has said she and her family do ‘everything together’ and she never misses any part of her children’s lives.
The 34-year-old has two daughters with ex-husband Russell Simmons – Ming Lee, nine, and Aoki Lee, seven – and she gave birth to son Kenzo Lee in May this year, whose dad is her new husband, Djimon Hounsou.
She told Page Six: “My family is the most important thing to me. I’ve never missed any type of performance – not one recital, not one karate belt. If there’s a toe being tapped or a tune being whistled, I am there.
“We do everything together. I know we live a little bit of a different life, with all the running around and the TV show, so I want to make sure we’re even more grounded.”

Leona Lewis wants to be an older mother:
On the subject of children, the recently assaulted singer admitted that it’s not really the proper time to be considering it. Leona Lewis said: “In the future definitely, but not within five years. I can see myself being an older mother. But I probably haven’t given it proper thought as it’s so far in the distance. I am a family person. But I say that and I am career driven as well! It’s like 50-50.” Well that can’t be good… you have to be in one place at a time, you can’t go on living separated between work and family. This is the aspect Leona Lewis should consider regarding children… but she’s probably going to be pregnant within the year. These planned things never really work out, do they?

Well, he might not be much into housework, as recently accused by his new wife, Nicole Richie, but when it comes to parenting, it seems that the Good Charlotte rocker really knows his stuff. When asked about kids, Joel Madden gave a very simple reply: “I love kids, I love working with kids, I love being around kids.†Having a month-old son apparently only assures that Joel Madden gets even more practice at being a great daddy… still, he should take heed with the housework, a great daddy is no good if he always makes mommy angry, doesn’t do well for the atmosphere.

Hilary Swank talks motherhood, divorce and nudity
Hilary Swank says she is so comfortable being nude that her boyfriend’s six-year-old son Sam doesn’t “look twice” when he walks into her bedroom and finds her naked.
The 35-year-old actress confesses to US Marie Claire that she doesn’t wear any clothes in bed.
“I don’t sleep in anything,” she says in the November issue. “Well my boyfriend’s son is six-years-old and you wonder at what age you should stop walking around nude. But he doesn’t look twice; he doesn’t think about it yet.”
The two-time Oscar winner has been dating John Campisi since her split with husband Chad Lowe two years ago.
Swank, who stars as one of the first female pilots, Amelia Earhart, in her new movie Amelia, says she would like to have children of her own one day.
She says: “When the time is right, I’ll know. I am aware that next week [at the time Marie Claire went to press] I turn 35. But I am also aware that the timing has to be right.”
She admits her break-up from Chad was hard.
“Going through a divorce is horrible,” she says. “It’s dreams crumbling; it’s your family, your whole life, all your security dissolving.
“Having been with Chad so young – we met when I was 18 – it was all I knew. It is really hard. I certainly don’t wish it on anyone.”

Mark Lester, the godfather of Michael Jackson’s children, said:
Mark Lester, the godfather of Michael Jackson’s children, has said he is “not pushing for any DNA tests” to see if he is the father of Michael’s daughter, Paris.
Mark, 51, recently came out and said that he had donated sperm to the 50-year-old star and that he believed he could be the father of his 11-year-old daughter Paris.
Mark recently confirmed that he is still close with the family and is not demanding a DNA test.
He said: “Look, I’m not pushing for any DNA tests. The family has been under enough pressure since Michael died and I just want things to settle down.
“Contrary to reports, I was invited to his funeral recently, but I couldn’t go for business reasons and hopefully I will be able to fly over at Christmas time and pay my respects privately.”
Mark said that he is still in contact with one of Michael’s family members. He said: “I’m still in touch with Randy Jackson whom I have known for a very long time, and we both respect one another. To suggest that there is a rift between myself and the Jackson family is just not true.”

Actress Jennifer Garner proved that she knows the starting line-up for the Boston Red Sox.
On last night’s The Jay Leno Show, the star was made to recite the starting line-up for the Red Sox in order to earn the right to promote her new movie, The Invention Of Lying, in a segment of the show called Earn Your Plug.
The 37-year-old Alias actress wanted to “annoy†husband actor Ben Affleck by naming all the players – which she managed to do.
After Garner completed the challenge, she revealed that she and Affleck watch all the games as the State Of Play star is a dedicated fan.
The couple married in 2005 and have two children together, Violet, three, and eight-month-old Seraphina.

Daniel Radcliffe says children are “much cooler” to talk to than adults.
Teenage Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe says he’s looking forward to having children because they’re “much cooler” to talk to than adults.
The schoolboy wizard, who will turn 20 this month, gushed about his excitement to become a dad. He returns to Hogwarts in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
Radcliffe said: “I’m excited about the idea of having kids, I’m not going to do it for a while though. A lot of people on the Potter set have had kids recently and to see the difference it’s made in their life. They’re so much more tired than they were before but they’re a lot happier.
“The joy, they’ve been changed in an amazing way. I do love kids, I think they’re so much cooler than adults to talk to and they’re just honest.
“They don’t care what they say and they’re hilariously funny.”
The actor told how making the latest Harry Potter movie tested him emotionally as well as professionally. “I always have great fun making these films,” he said.
“There were some very hard scenes to film – Dumbledore’s death scene was one.
“That was very, very hard scene to film because I’ve never lost anybody close to me.”
Radcliffe is now shooting parts one and two of the final Harry Potter instalment – Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Johnny Depp tries not to watch any of his films
Johnny Depp said he tries not to watch any of the films he has worked on.
Johnny, 46, is currently starring in the new flick Public Enemies alongside Christian Bale and Marion Cotillard. In the flick, he plays the gangster John Dillinger.
He said: “I prefer to walk away with the experience, as opposed to walking away with the product.”
Talking about the new film, he said: “I’ve not seen the film, so I don’t know what it looks like.
“I like to portray a character, inhabit a character and build character, but I don’t want to watch the end result necessarily, because it becomes about money then, and I’d rather not think about that.”
Johnny’s admitted his two children – Lily-Rose, 10, and Jack, seven – have seen more films that he has.
He said: “My children have seen more films of mine than I have. They’ve seen all of them within reason – many more than I have. I have no plans to see them – any of them.”

Jackson’s ex-wife Debbie Rowe claims he did not sire two oldest kids
Michael Jackson did not father his two oldest children, says his former wife Debbie Rowe.
Just days after the singer’s death, Rowe has made the shocking admission that even though she offered him her womb to carry the children, his sperm was not used in the process.
In an astonishing interview, published in the UK’s News of the World, Rowe, mother of Prince, 12, and Paris, 11 – said she was artificially inseminated by an anonymous donor.
And she told how, despite Jackson’s death, she does not want custody of the children and never expects to see them again.
Speaking from her home, Rowe said: “Michael was divorced, lonely and wanted children. I was the one who said to him: ‘I will have your babies’. I offered him my womb – it was a gift. It was something I did to keep him happy … I was just the vessel. It wasn’t Michael’s sperm. I got paid for it, and I’ve moved on. I know I will never see my children again.â€
No longer shackled by a legal agreement between the pair, Rowe says of her impregnation at a medical clinic: “Just like I stick the sperm up my horse, this is what they did to me. I was his thoroughbred.”
She said the birth of the second child, Paris, was difficult, and she ended up unable to have any more babies: “The delivery was so hard. My insides were all torn up and I was barren. When he knew I couldn’t have any more babies he [Jackson] didn’t want anything to do with me.”
She said: “I was never a good mother, I never felt any attachment to them. It was a better feeling giving them to him than it was keeping them as my own … I was never cut out to be a mother – I was no good. I don’t want these children in my life.â€

Gordon Ramsay given $800,000 villa
Gordon Ramsay has boasted about being given an $800,000 villa on Australia’s Gold Coast.
Speaking to 150 guests, who paid $300 each to watch him cook at the Hyatt Regency hotel, the chef said: “The good news is I’m getting a new home on the Gold Coast. It’s actually being given to me. It’s all being finalised now. It’s f****** lovely. The family will love it there.”
He then moaned about how he gets given thousands of dollars-worth of cooking equipment.
The foul-mouthed Hell’s Kitchen star said: “I’ve worked bloody hard to build up my career and make money so I can buy things like the best pots and pans, utensils and so on. Now I’m at the stage where it all gets given to me. Even the kids have got these luxury fridges in their bedrooms. It’s crazy.”
He also talked about how he will visit “little cafes, chippies and tea rooms” when his Kitchen Nightmares show returns to UK television screens later this year.

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman bringing a new addition to the family
The singer and his wife have recently decided upon enlarging their family and giving their ten month-old daughter a sibling. Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman are planning to adopt a Vietnamese child to this purpose. A representative of the Department of International Adoption from Vietnam confirmed their intentions: “Yes, Nicole Kidman wants a baby from Vietnam. We’ve been approached.” So it seems that Nicole Kidman is actually behind all of this. Well, it’s probably no big deal for Keith Urban, considering his wife already has two other adopted children… what difference is one more to worry about going to make, eh?
