Here’s an update for all Robbie Williams fans wondering how the former Take That oaf is getting on in Los Angeles.

Well, I can report that the beardy pop nob is still completely crackers.

He has been chartering jets to fly into obscure desert towns to attend conferences with victims of alien abductions. The millionaire singer would rather listen to speeches by characters claiming to have had a brush with ET than write more songs.

Surely he has something better to do with his time and money?

Like filling a swimming pool with champagne and inviting the Pussycat Dolls around for a dip?

Britney Spears is one unwanted pop wreck on the CBS sitcom that she recently appeared on last month – at least according to one of its stars. In an exclusive interview with AP, ‘How I Met Your Mother’ star Neil Patrick Harris says he doesn’t want Brit back. It was nothing personal. It’s just that he doesn’t think they need recovering wrecks on the show for cheap ratings’ boosts. He also said that he was in the minority that the show doesn’t need stunt casting in order to succeed. There were rumors that Brit might make another appearance on the show after her first one came off great. Producers have reportedly been receptive to the idea. Things aren’t looking good on Neil’s part then.

So there is life after Spiceworld round two – Mel Brown says she loves her new job as a telly host. She has joined US celeb news show Access Hollywood as a correspondent covering Dancing With The Stars.

Scary Spice, who was runner-up in the US dance hit’s last series, covers rehearsals and does tough postshow interviews with the contestants and dancers. On the set she told us: “I’m loving it.”

But the stars had better watch out, a TV source told us: “She’s being typical Mel and manhandles people to get them to talk. She grabs them as they’re in other interviews!”

It’s been eight years since we’ve been forced to, I mean blessed to, see the face of Kathie Lee Gifford. It was back in 2000 that she left Live! with Regis Philbin.

Now, she’s hanging around Today with Matt Lauer. He made the announcement that Monday, April 7, will be her first day as a regular in the show’s 10 o’clock hour.

Geez, I thought we’d never get to see her Carnival face again.

Kristy Lee Cook should be jumping for joy right now as country legend Dolly Parton will be appearing as a special guest on American Idol on Tuesday. The country crooner will be a mentor to the finalists on April 1’s show and the night will be filled with her songs. Dolly will also return on Wednesday’s results show to perform her single ‘Jesus & Gravity’, the second single from her new album ‘Backwoods Barbie’. Like I said, Kristy Lee should be jumping for joy since she sings country. To be honest, I’m interested on what David Cook will do with a country song.

It seems that life after American Idol can be cold – ice cream cold that it. Season 6 castoffs Melinda Doolittle and Chris Richardson are realizing that now as they two singers with barely there music careers are making ends meet by schilling ice cream as part of a Dreyer’s ice cream national promo tour at Vons, Stop & Shot and Winn-Dixie. It may not be as glamorous but there is life after Idol. The likes of Kristy Lee Cook and Ramiele Malubay can look forward to a Safeway, or a local balloon festival, or an outlet mall, or a housing development, maybe even a bingo waiting for them when they get voted off.

And no, that’s not what I meant. The Daily Courier got hold of the barely alive Idol golden girl kicking some guy’s butt. Her martial arts instructor says that she’s “feisty and cocky in the ring”. The other Idol wannabes better watch out then – hell hath no fury like a kickboxing redneck woman booted off of the show. Could you just imagine the songs that could be written for her if she was in the position of David Archuleta or David Hernandez?

Lily Allen has dismissed reports in the UK press that many audience members walked-out of filming for her new TV show last week. The UK pop star has taken to her blog to respond to reports in the national press that the first episode of the chat show was beset by problems.

This weekend, the Mail On Sunday claimed one third of the crowd at “Lily Allen & Friends” left because they were bored. However, Lily says some were forced to leave because the recording had overrun and people had to get home.

She wrote: “Thank you to the ever supportive ‘Mail On Sunday’, they insinuated a third of the audience left because they were bored with the content of the show. In fact, due to it being the FIRST show we’ve done we ran over a little and naturally a small number of the audience had to catch the last trains back to wherever they came from.”

Elsewhere in the online posting, Lily said she is nearing completion on her new album, the follow-up to 2006 debut “Alright, Still”.

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star Katherine Heigl got married last weekend to singer Josh Kelley. There were reportedly a lot of her co-stars there, including TR Knight which may just be the reason that Isaiah Washington wasn’t there. But then again, he wasn’t that liked anyway.

OK! reports that Katherine walked down the aisle in an Oscar de la Renta gown and to a song written for her by her now husband Josh. TR was said to be a groomsman while Sandra Oh, Kate Walsh and Justin Chambers were attendees.

It’s been 18 months in the making, and Izzy, I mean Katherine, is ready to just get it over with.

“I’m mostly panicking about all the details, and getting there, traveling, transportation, talking to the pastor, getting the license.” Once that’s all said and done, they’re ready to work on kids.

“I’m super excited to start a family,” she says, “I’ve always wanted a family, a large family. But I say that now!” Katherine says she would like to be a mom within a year (rushing, maybe?) but beau Josh Kelly wants to wait a couple.

Well, if you were just dying to see a rerun of that 1992 episode of “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” - you know, the one with Tom Hanks - you’re in luck.

It seems as if NBC has dug into the vault and is going to run “vintage” episodes of the show for at least another week. This is the result of the still unsettled writers’ strike. The Writers Guild of America and studio negotiators are continuing to try and work out a deal.

NBC’s plan is to show the the initial “Tonight Show” appearances for some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. In addition to the Hanks episode, we can also see Julia Roberts’ 1993 appearance, Jennifer Anniston and Johnny Depp from 1995, and Matt Damon’s 2000 show.

It appears that they are running out of recent episodes to replay because the strike is continuing on. Producers of the show have been trying to find a creative way of maintaining the show and decided to make use of their archives.

Hopefully enough readers will get this memo and realize these are repeats. If not, and if the big hair doesn’t give it away, Julia Roberts fans may be headed to the local theaters for the opening night of Mystic Pizza.

26-year old Natalie picked up the latest hip hop-flavored move sweeping the nation, the Soulja Boy Dance. It’s an enjoyable watch as Natalie jumps, hops and cranks it in her red heels. Maybe she could even teach the dance to her model boyfriend.

Actress Kim Cattrall only agreed to reprise her role as sassy Samantha in the new Sex And The City Movie if she received a substantial wage - because she was desperate for the money. Wow, Hollywood is ready getting on my nerves. For heavens sake, she’s an actress and has a lot of publicity and promotions to associate her persona with. I hope the movie turns out really fun and exciting, and may she get the highest pay. Kim broke a lot of trends and rules on Mainstream TV. She’s a total risk taker, divine and unique. Plus, she’s done alot of modeling from time to time. Attention to all movie executives “STOP TAKING ADVANTAGE HER”. More over I am certainly one of those who thinks that women should receive equal pay as what their male counter parts receive as salary for doing big budget movies.

Aretha Franklin is such a huge piece of music history that she should definitely get a movie. A TV movie, on the other hand, seems a little crappy. I mean, think of the people that get major motion pictures?! Why wouldn’t they give Aretha Franklin a real movie? They can make movie on Catwoman, and some other really awful character and incident, but none of these guys/producers are willing to give a great legend a shot at big commercial movie. Now the funny part is that she wants a pencil thin actress like Halle Berry to play her. Currently even Halle cannot give her nod to play in her movie coz she is pregnant and has a growing bump. Why not that Jennifer Hudson play the part of Aretha, at least Jennifer could get close to being something like Aretha. Jennifer Hudson probably wouldn’t do it because she’s an Oscar winner and probably thinks she’s too good now, huh? But she’d be good for the role. Don’t you think?

James Bond’s Casino Royale has topped the UK’s first “culture chart”, bringing together sales of DVDs, books, CDs and computer games in one rundown. The Casino Royale DVD sold 2.3 million copies in the first half of 2007, ahead of The Queen DVD in second place. James Bond is by far the best selling movies of all times, even if the recent reports that the movies of Harry Potter have sold more it ticket sales and out placed James Bond from the number one slot of all time box office sales, one thing that the people who have made this report would not have taken into consideration is that the first Harry Potter movie was released after 2000 and James Bond – the character and the movies series has being there for more than 40 years. To remain such an iconic movie for such a long duration and to be accepted to a wide generation of cinema goers is what gives the edge to James Bond in my opinion.

Perhaps Vanessa Hudgens figures her fans have seen enough of her for a while.

News confirmed Thursday that the scandal-tinged High School Musical starlet has canceled her appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, whose green room she would currently be cooling her heels (or biting her nails) in if all had gone according to plan. She should do the interview. Jay Leno will give her a soft interview and will treat her like a daughter. Leno will not beat her up, and will treat her with respect…where as, if she does a pre-tapped interview with a so-called news organization, they will cut and splice the interview and make things seem very sexual and erotic…if not downright pornographic. And you can bet, the interview will start out friendly, just so they can get enough footage of a cooperative Vanessa…after that, they’ll hit her with hard mean spirited questions and cut together an interview designed to trash Vanessa, Disney and Highschool: The Musical. That’s when they’ll compare Vanessa to Lindsey Lohan, Paris Hilton and Britney, insisting that she has lost her way, like them and make her look like a druggie and drunk…thus, a regular Hollywood bad girl like the rest! No, Vanessa…do Jay Leno’s Show, Larry King, and Letterman…they will treat you with respect and like a daughter, trust me on this one!!!

I wasn’t going to post this because I was pretty sure it’s fake, but everybody else is putting it up. The National Enquirer reported a couple of weeks ago that 18-year-old Vanessa Hudgens from High School Musical took some nude pictures of herself for her boyfriend Zac Efron.

Wow, the list for ‘Paris Hilton Haters’ is just increasing by the day and the newest addition to the growing list is Hollywood heartthrob Brad Pitt. The last one I remember is Courtney Love. For those of you who dislike Brad Pitt because you think he cheated on Jennifer Aniston, guess what? I’ve got news that will make you forget about Jennifer and instill a love for Brad in your heart once more. He is annoyed by Paris Hilton being a fame-hungry skank! But Brad isn’t that the only thing why almost every person in Hollywood is there for, for the fame and the money and for living life in the fast lane and going bonkers for peanut like things. But can I tell you a thing Brad – you not so clean yourself, you couldn’t keep up with Jennifer and you actually cheated on her no matter what have to say about the whole episode and there have been news that Jolie too had throw you out of the house, you stink as has as Paris does. But the fact that he burned Paris Hilton is just priceless!

Theron plays a detective looking for the missing soldier
Hollywood actress Charlize Theron, who is promoting her latest movie at the Venice Film Festival, has said she hopes US troops in Iraq can come home.
The 32-year-old stars in the film, In The Valley of Elah, based on the true story of a soldier who goes missing after serving in Iraq.

“Nothing would give me more joy than to see them back in America,” the Oscar-winning star said.

Tommy Lee Jones and Susan Sarandon play the missing soldier’s parents.

Theron said: “[The soldiers] are doing a very, very important job and it’s a dangerous one. Hopefully they can come back and be looked after, that’s the least we can do for them.”

The movie is the second Iraq drama at this year’s festival - the first, Brian De Palma’s Redacted, premiered on Friday.

The Valley of Elah was written and directed by Paul Haggis, whose last film was the Oscar-winning Crash.

“I laugh when I hear these statements that Hollywood is jumping on the bandwagon because the American public is turning against the war,” Haggis said.

“We started work on the film in 2003, when the president had an 80% approval rating, everyone even in the neighbourhood where I live was driving around with flags on their cars, and the president was saying it was unpatriotic to even question this war,” he said.

He said financing the film was hard and thinks at the time it was “risky” to make.

Meanwhile, director Ken Loach also premiered his new film, It’s A Free World at the festival.

The movie takes a look at the exploitation of migrant workers in the UK.

Loach said he hoped it would generate attention on the plight of immigrants - legal or otherwise - who have flocked to the country from eastern Europe in recent years.

“On the one hand people say the economy couldn’t survive without the immigrant workforce. On the other, the right wing is saying, ‘Get these people out of our country’. It’s hypocrisy,” he said.

Hollywood star Mel Gibson is tipped to reunite with Mad Max director George Miller in forthcoming superhero move Justice League. A number of A’ list stars are being linked with the film, which unites comic book heroes Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Flash. Reunion hahaa, they might be reuniting to produce a big time flop movie. Too many super stars in the same movie and what will each one of them being doing – something like Ocean’s movie, all of them parking in the same parking lot and smashing each others window panes. You can pay big star big money but the most vital clog is having a good script where in all the actors have a significant role to play or else the audiences go to the theaters and find that their favorite movies star is looking more of a jerk delivering dialogues that make him look like a hotel gate attendant rather than a character. I do not mean offense to any those the actors who are in the ‘Justice League’ at all.

Although it’s pretty much established that Britney Spears is sick and crazy, she’s being called those two things by several music industry insiders for a different reason. Britney has reportedly ditched the chance to do a duet single with former boyfriend Justin Timberlake.

Page Six reported that Justin wrote the song specifically for his former love and that her label was counting on the song to be the launch pad for her comeback. But before she could even fly out to record the song, Britney abruptly canceled the session.

The new drug rehabilitation clinic, which follows the principals of Preston’s religion, will use tried and tested alternative methods to ween addicts off painkillers and hard drugs. Why can’t celebs just stay out of rehab? Either creating one or going thru them. Nobody in h’wood succeeds in rehab because they go to country club facilities that cater to their every whim. They’re a slap in the face for people who go thru serious rehab, go to AA meetings and really WANT to turn their lives around. a rehab in Hawaii? I don’t drink, snort, pop or shoot, but sign me up! It sounds like a great vacation…even if it does subscribe to the whacked out “religion” of Scientology.

Scarlett Johansson feels guilty about how easily she secured a record contract for her upcoming album of Tom Waits covers because she has musician friends who dream about releasing an album. Johansson was offered a deal after Warner Brothers talent scouts heard her sing on compilation album “Unexpected Dreams.” And the 22-year-old worries her struggling pals will hold her good fortune against her. You can’t feel bad for them and out can’t go out and tell them, hey look no big deal you can have my contract I’ll look for another one. It’s not a piece of your favorite cake and munchies that you could buy another one, this is serious business and the least you can do is introduce them to a producer but beyond that it’s fate and talent. It’s a boy for Bridget Moynahan and New England Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady. The actress gave birth to the baby in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Moynahan’s publicist Christina Papadapoulos said in a statement. “Both mother and baby are doing well,” she said.
Other details were not immediately released.

Brady’s whereabouts weren’t known. He wasn’t on the field or sidelines for the first 15 minutes of practice on Wednesday and Patriots spokesman Stacey James said he didn’t know when Brady would rejoin the team.

It also wasn’t clear whether Brady would play in the Patriots’ third exhibition game Friday against the Carolina Panthers. A call to his agent, Donald Yee, wasn’t immediately returned.

Brady, 30, had said earlier this week that he would like a few days off for the birth of his first child, calling the event “a very joyous, happy situation.”

Moynahan and Brady split up late last year after a three-year relationship. Brady, who has been dating supermodel Gisele Bundchen, wasn’t on the field or sidelines for the first 15 minutes of Patriots practice Wednesday.

The quarterback had said he wanted a few days off to attend the birth of his first child. It was unknown if he arrived before the baby was born.

Moynahan, 36, is a former model who has starred in such films as “Coyote Ugly,” “I, Robot” and “The Sum of All Fears.” Her television credits include “Sex and the City” and the ABC series “Six Degrees.”

Bette Midler cut down more than 230 trees around one of her properties on the island of Kauai without a permit, and the state has recommended she be fined.

The staff of the Board of Land and Natural Resources recommended $6,500 in fines for having the trees felled and for building a graded road without permits required for the land zoned for conservation use.

The singer and actress will pay the fines and will follow a replanting program, her attorney Max W. J. Graham said.

The actress and movie star, who was born in Honolulu, didn’t realize permits were needed to remove the trees on a vacant 58,000-square-foot parcel of land on Kauai’s North Shore, Graham said.

“The whole idea with cutting the trees down was with the idea of improving the lot with native species” instead of the nonnative, invasive species that had grown there, Graham said. “It’s unfortunate that a mistake was made.”

The National Tropical Botanical Garden, which maintains three gardens on Kauai, will design a replanting plan that consists of appropriate native plants, Graham said.

A botanist hired by Midler after the fact said 120 Java plum trees, 100 octopus trees and 10 to 20 Madagascar olive trees that were cut down were all nonnative species. Some native trees also were removed from the property, the botanist said.

Midler, known for her longtime commitment to the environment, was once known as the Compost Queen and appeared on billboards in Los Angeles advocating green recycling containers are for yard trimmings.

Midler is set to replace Celine Dion as a headline performer at Las Vegas’s renovated Caesars Palace next year.

I think she just not made for marriage and if she does not want to get married then she shouldn’t coz then she will not be committed to the marriage and soon it could get as ugly as the one of Britney and Kevin and if that’s going to be the case then they are better off staying as couple but yet single. I think, she says right. That’s not her fault; she did not want to marry with Justin. Maybe they would remain a hot unluckily couple. However, I hope Jessica and Justin will be happy together. I don’t think Jessica and Justin will ever work out. She has a great career ahead of her and so is the case with Justin, they both can reach great heights, it’s a case where both are career oriented and they could in a matter of time be seriously jealous of each others success and the things that are written both celebs and their affairs it could make survival of the two a difficult proposition all together.

Surveying the current Hollywood landscape – and the mounting number of youthful casualties of late – former child star Brooke Shields says she has no particular advice to offer young stars.

“I think a lot of these girls are young, and it’s all so tempting,” Shields, 42, tells Redbook in its September issue. “For some reason I wasn’t tempted. I don’t know why.”

Looking back, she says, “Sometimes I wish I was a little more tempted to have a little more fun. But then I see them” – Shields mentions no one by name – “and someone will ask, ‘Well, what do you want to say to so-and-so?’ I don’t want to say anything to them. I want to talk to their mothers.”

Shields’s own mother, Teri Shields, who originally managed her daughter, came under a firestorm of criticism for her treatment (some said exploitation) of her budding star. The two eventually separated professionally.

“People used to say my mom used me as a commodity,” the actress now says. “But you know what? She did her own version dysfunctional behavior, sure, but nothing like you see these days.”

When it comes to the sort of mother she is with her own daughters, Rowan, 4, and Grier, born in May 2006 (their dad is Shields’s husband of six years, TV writer-producer Chris Henchy), Shields says: “I always feel like the odd mom out, because trust me when I tell you I’m on my girls. And every time I am, I know from the outside it looks like I’m an overbearing, controlling parents. But I don’t think we have any responsibility to anybody else but our kids and ourselves.”

Not that Shields apologizes for being strict. “The worst part about it is when I look at my daughter [Rowan], and she’ll be fighting with some other kid, and I have to be careful not to always make it her fault. But I can only tell her what to do – I can’t tell the other kid. I’ll tell her, ‘Hey, you suck it up; you give him the toy, and we’ll talk about it later.’ ”

Admits Shields, “So she’s the one who always has to take the high road, which is hard for a 4-year-old.”

Matt Damon has dismissed comparisons between his spy character Jason Bourne and English agent James Bond, declaring 007 is stuck in the past. Damon made the outburst at the British premiere of his third Bourne movie, The Bourne Ultimatum, in London on Wednesday night. I think this absolutely ‘ruubbish’ as in a heavy English accent, leaving the funny thing apart I think that James Bond is the most fantastic spy movie ever to hit the screen and the international success on the Daniel Craig starrer Casino Royale certainly justifies what I have to say. The gadgets and the style the romance and the aura is unbelievable and something though old but coming our way in the most refined and remolded it is far worth its wait and iconic to say the least. Matt is simply trying hard to promote his movie and want the Bond fans to turn their back to the James Bond series and get hooked to his movie that will become are regular sequel now. Bad attempt Matt, better luck next time.
