  • Simon Cowell to marry Mezhgan Hussainy ‘in Venice later this year’

    SPL145219_003

X Factor judge Simon Cowell will marry fiancee Mezhgan Hussainy in Italy later this year, according to US reports.

The 51-year-old music mogul proposed to make-up artist Hussainy, 36, earlier this year and reports now say the ceremony is set for the spring and will take place in Venice.

A source said to website BettyConfidential: “It is a perfect time of year for Simon to be able to enjoy his wedding, honeymoon and time off as a newlywed before he starts devoting his schedule to The X Factor.”

The couple live together in LA but reports claim they ruled out marrying there or Hussainy’s native Afghanistan. They then thought about Rome before eventually deciding on Venice.

The source added: “It’s perfect. It’s romantic and historical.”

  • Simon Cowell used Victorian smelling salts during recent illness

Simon Cowell reportedly used Victorian smelling salts to help him get over his recent illness.

Cowell, 50, was recently forced to pull out of filming auditions for the show after being struck down with flu.

His X-Factor co-star Louis Walsh filled in for him but after resorting to the salts, Cowell is back filming the show.

A source said: “An American friend couldn’t understand it, but Simon joked all Englishmen use them.”

  • Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres in an all out war

The guys from American Idol really do have their work cut out for them. After some minor complaints about Simon Cowell being late for work, something he most probably is not used to since he’s usually the boss, Ellen DeGeneres is now in an all out war with the Earl of Exigency and they are no longer speaking with each other. This is what a source said about the crisis: “There’s two camps on the show this season. It’s a lot more tense than previous seasons. It seems as if Ellen has decided to try to take control since Simon is on his way out and that’s created problems.” The producers of American Idol could make this work to their advantage, though. Just imagine the ratings if Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres are “persuaded” to resolve their differences during a sing-off. Now that would be something everybody would want to see!

  • Male American Idol contestant gets flirty with Simon Cowell

    SPL96172_005

Simon Cowell was almost lost for words as a flirty male American Idol contestant asked him to get on top of him.

The show, now in its ninth season, hit Los Angeles for more auditions with guest judges Avril Lavigne, dressed in a horned-hoodie, and Katy Perry, wearing a revealing pink dress.

And things got a little awkward for Cowell when a raunchy male contestant followed up a flamboyant singing/dancing audition with some flirtatious comments.

Wannabe singer Jason Greene ended his over-the-top – and rather literal – performance of I Touch Myself on the floor, and the judges jokingly asked him to stay there while they gave comments.

“Want to come down and join me?” he asked a shocked Cowell.

“No,” barked the Brit, as the other judges laughed.

“Please … Do you want to spend a little bit of time on me?” added the contestant, before acknowledging he may have gone too far.

A gobsmacked Katy Perry said: “I feel dirty … and it takes a lot for me to feel dirty!”

The contestant was rejected and eventually left – after putting on an over-the-top dance routine on his way out and handing presenter Ryan Seacrest his phone number.

    SPL131968_009

Simon Cowell has been voted one of the all-time greatest leaders alongside Martin Luther King and Moses in a new poll by teenagers.

The 50-year-old music mogul made the top ten of the poll by The Prince’s Trust to find out who 1,000 teenagers think are the all-time greatest leaders.

England and Chelsea footballer John Terry made the top 10, while Cowell won the same percentage of votes as Mother Teresa and Henry VIII.

Joanna Lumley also won a place in the poll after her work for the rights of the Gurkhas and Lord Alan Sugar from The Apprentice also polled.

US president Barack Obama and Nelson Mandela came in the top three of the poll.

The survey was done as a new Government-backed campaign, Youth of Today, is launched which aims to create a generation of inspirational young leaders.

Adam Nichols, from Youth of Today, said: “People think that youth today only aspire to be like celebrities but they’re wrong. This campaign will give young people more inspiration closer to home.”

    SPL96172_004

Piers Morgan reveals the juicy details of Simon Cowell’s birthday party and told how Ryan Seacrest was whipped by a dominatrix on stage at the bash.

Piers, 44, was a guest at his fellow Britain’s Got Talent judge’s recent birthday party to celebrate his 50th.

He said: “The highlights, or lowlights depending on how prudish you are (I’m not, obviously), included: A naked woman dressed as female genitalia removing various articles of ribbons and clothing from her own body.”

He added: “Ryan Seacrest being dragged up on stage and being jokily whipped by a dominatrix. A wonderfully evocative hologram of Frank Sinatra.”

Of course, it’s all properly timed as her appearance will tie in with her new album release. According to an inside source “It makes perfect sense and will create a big buzz. There are two shows to fill on Saturday and Sunday nights now, so they’re also planning guest appearances from previous winners and runners-up as well as celebrity guests.”

  • Simon Cowell offers his baby wisdom

    SPL112860_009

For one X-Factor contestant, the judgement from Simon Cowell was simple: Go home and have the baby.

Now Lauren Stanley, 23, of Portsmouth has a new baby, Jack. She said that Cowell was concerned when she appeared heavily pregnant [beyond her due date] on the show with her singing partner, Verity Morley, 19. The pair aka Black & Gold gave a rendition of Christina Aguilera’s Ain’t No Other Man that impressed the judges in May.

Stanley said:”We were on stage after we performed and he told me he thought I was being irresponsible. He asked how I would cope with the rest of the show but I just snapped and said, ‘If I didn’t think I could do it I wouldn’t be here’.”

  • Amanda Holden says Britain’s Got Talent co-hosts Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan have “hearts of stone”.

Amanda Holden says Britain’s Got Talent co-hosts Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan have “hearts of stone”.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge slammed the pair for being cold towards the show’s contestants.

After giving her opinion on the apparent emotional breakdown of runner-up Susan Boyle, the 38-year-old actress put the boot into her fellow panelists.

“I’ve always said that I’m the one with the beating heart because neither one of those two have a heart, they’re made of stone to be honest,” she said.

“They are also enormous egos so as a mummy, as a housewife, I try to bring things down a bit.

“I’m also the only one that’s actually done any performing so I’m the only one qualified to judge.

“I slap them down and try to keep them in order.

“I’ve grounded Simon twice already he’s such a naughty boy, and I’ve had to send Piers out of the room a couple of times for rude behaviour.

“I just try to keep all the boys in check, I’m the only girl.”
