  • Director Woody Allen has his sights set on France’s First Lady Carla Bruni as his next muse, he has revealed

Director Woody Allen has his sights set on France’s First Lady Carla Bruni as his next muse, he has revealed.

The 73-year-old Annie Hall director is currently promoting his new film Whatever Works, starring Curb Your Enthusiasm actor comic Larry David.

Asked who he would like to work with in the future, Allen said: “Without question, Carla Bruno! I’m sure she would be wonderful.

“She has charisma, and she performs, so she’s not a stranger to an audience, and I would cast her in many different ways.

“I don’t have a story at the moment, but you know, maybe even I’ll ask her, if she’s interested.”

  • Prince Harry beats Hollywood hunks to top sexiest man poll

British royal Prince Harry has been voted the UK’s most-eligible bachelor by a panel of judges – which included the woman he is rumoured to be dating.

The 24-year-old royal came top of a list of 50 men voted for by readers of UK women’s magazine Company. A panel of judges – including TV presenter Caroline Flack, who Harry is reportedly dating – then chose a winner.

Company editor Victoria White said: “Caroline did seem a bit distracted and now we know why.”

She added: “The decision was unanimous between the judges.

“Aside from being third in line to the throne, he has a seemingly endless list of attributes, including his party-loving nature, sense of adventure, famous nan, bodyguards, oversized bank account… need we go on?”

Prince Harry beat a host of eligible stars, including Twilight hunk Robert Pattinson and sexy Prison Break hard man Wentworth Miller, to the title.

  • Julianne Moore to play Hilary Clinton

Oscar nominee Julianne Moore is lining up for a role as Hilary Clinton, it was reported.

Moore says that although the film won’t be shooting for quite a while, she is deep in preparation.

“Right now I’m watching a lot of videotape and I’m doing a lot of reading,” she said in TV footage from the food event, Battle Of The Chefs, for which she was a judge.

“I won’t be shooting it for quite a while, so I am at the very, very beginning of my work on it. I have yet to meet with the hair and make-up people. I’m sure there’ll be a wig and make-up and everything like that.”

Moore will work with Dennis Quaid in The Special Relationship to be directed by Peter Morgan.

Dennis Quaid will play Bill Clinton, while Michael Sheen will play Tony Blair in the production.

Moore worked with Quaid in Far From Heaven, directed by Todd Haynes.

“I love Dennis. We had a great time working together and I’m thrilled to be working with him again,” Moore said.

  • Harrison Ford takes family to visit the White House

Hollywood star Harrison Ford is no stranger to the White House.

He played a President in Air Force One, played someone protecting the president and even went to high school with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

So it was no surprise the actor has just taken a tour of the famous presidential home in Washington DC.

Ford took fianceé Calista Flockhart and her son Liam on the tour over the weekend and the group spent time inside the White House briefing room.

In there they snapped photos while Flockhart asked Liam: “Isn’t this cool?”

Ford and Flockhart also spent time looking at the name tags under the chairs and pointed at White House Press Corp member Helen Thomas’s chair.

According to a report on politico.com Ford asked a White House aide if President Obama had actually done a briefing in the briefing room.

But the aide told him no, mostly because of the room’s shortage of seats.

  • Maria Conchita Alonso blasts Sean Penn for supporting Hugo Chavez

Maria Conchita Alonso, the actress who worked with 2 time Oscar winning actor Sean Penn in the 1988 movie ‘Colors’ for his consistent support of her native Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. She feels that the actor should ‘shut up.’

Sean has voiced his admiration for the Venezuelan President on quite a few occasions and has become a great admirer since 2007, the first time he visited the South American country. While visiting the country for an interview with Hugo Chavez ore lies about him in the United States than we know truth. If you want a soundbite from me about Chavez, then I would say that, for the moment, he’s much more positive for Venezuela than he is negative.”

Maria is upset that Penn support a president whose reign has been controversial. She says, “He’s praising Hugo Chavez, who’s a killer and a dictator.” Well Maria the whole world might agree with you yet you cannot ask a person to shut up just because you ain’t agreein with his thoughts.

For Sean my only advice is that he lives with Hugo for 6 months and let’s then see what story he will have to share with us.

  • John Mayer Blogs for Barack Obama

John Mayer has been known as an avid blogger. He usually just rants off about nothing though. Putting his blogging to good use, he wrote for the Huffington Post about his support for Barack Obama and his belief in hope. He said “I believe the definition of the “hope” that Barack Obama enthuses operates on the unspoken thesis that there has to be a polar opposite to the despair of 9/11. Because if we accept that there’s not, the will to live becomes forever altered. To adults who will vote for him, Barack Obama represents a return to prosperity. To the youth, he represents an introduction to it.”

  • Tina Fey thought she does not look like Sarah Palin

    And I am not kidding!
Ever since Mr. Really Old Man a.k.a. John McCain chose Gov. Palin as his running mate, Tina Fey has been thrust into the political spotlight like no comedian has ever been before. However, initially, Tina didn’t see the resemblance but now wishes the two looked more alike, according to the latest issue of TV Guide:
“When I first saw her, I didn’t think we looked alike at all. Then during the convention, I started to think, ‘Ok, maybe a little.’
“I’ll tell you, that lady is five times better-looking than I am. She’s 44? She’s got none of that droopy s–t. She’s keeping it tight!”
And there you have it. Tina believes that Sarah looks waaaaaaaaaaaaay better than she does.

  • Pink’s Funhouse

    pink.jpg

Pink’s new CD cover for her album ‘Funhouse’ has been released. This marks her fifth studio album which is set to be released on October 28th. The 29-year old singer recently voiced her opinion about Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin. She went on to say that animals should be just as scared of Palin as much as humans are. The rocker is speaking as an animal rights activist. She says “I can’t imagine shooting a wolf out of a helicopter.” I guess Sarah’s not going to be invited to Pink’s funhouse anytime soon. I wonder what the anti-celebrity talking about politics Kid Rock thinks of Pink’s comments.

  • Tina Fey is returning to SNL?

    tina-fey.jpg

We all know that Tina Fey bears so much resemblance to Sarah Palin. In fact, Tina Fey’s impression of the Republican vice presidential candidate was so hilariously spot-on that the season premiere of SNL debuted to an opening high.
The skit has even experienced viral success on the internet and, as we all know, that’s the best proof to know you’ve made it big!
Naturally, as the country’s biggest overnight celebrity since her selection as John McCain’s running mate not too long ago, Palin, will become a recurring character on SNL, which has always be conscious of political current events.
But will Tina Fey encore her SNL performance with a Sarah Palin reprise?
SNL spokesman Marc Liepis says they are taking it “day by day,” basis. Though he has to admit that it will be unlikely, as it will affect Tina Fey’s schedule on the comedy 30 Rock.
Noooooooo!!!!! I want her back! BRING HER BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!

  • Another celebrity talks about Sarah Palin

    pamela-anderson.jpg

No I haven’t gotten tired of hearing different celebrities talk about Sarah Palin these days. Although I’d like to hear more about the real issues instead of hearing Matt Damon talk about the many internet rumors or a marginally humorous parody video that ends with Gina Gershon stripping down to a bikini.
Pamela Anderson, joins the bandwagon and challenges Governor Sarah Palin. Is she going to tackle her lack of foreign policy experience? Is she concerned with the contradictory views on a woman’s right to choose? Are they going to talk about the Bush Doctrine? She’s not going to talk about those, Oh no she won’t. She has chosen to discuss Sarah Palin posing next to a bearskin draped over a couch in Newsweek.

Here’s what she had to say about Palin.

“I can’t stand her. She can suck it.”

Congratulations Pamela, you have proven our point.

  • Nelson Mandela Bans Naomi Campbell

    naomi-campbell.jpg

He may be letting Amy Winehouse sing at his birthday bash, but Nelson Mandela says he won’t have Naomi Campbell at his party.

Apparently she donned a baseball cap with the number 46664 on it. If that doesn’t mean anything to you, that’s the number of the jail cell that Mandela spent 27 years in. Yeah, I’m guessing he didn’t take too kindly to that.

So, I guess she’ll have to watch reruns of the party on TV because she won’t have anyone to fly her there anyway. Ha!

    natalie-portman-sexy.jpg

The internet is Natalie Portman’s medium for encouraging people to vote. Her new public service announcement takes about 30 seconds, and she says, “Voting’s how our democracy works.”

The spot does not affiliate her with any side of the races. Instead, she simply talks about how important it is to take part in the democratic process. Natalie says, “To vote is to express yourself.”

  • Christian Group Wants 50 Cent To Retire

    50-cent-photo.jpg

A Christian media watchdog group is calling for “satanic” rapper 50 Cent to retire. The Resistance objects to the hip-hop superstar’s lyrics and lifestyle, and want him to step down as he promised he would if Kanye West’s Graduation beat his Curtis disc to the top of the U.S. albums chart – which it did. if you wanna start making things with “filth” in it retire or stop, then i guess the whole world needs a bit of a make over, cuz their r much filthier things out there than 50’s music…jus saying. You his music will not heal the world of its sorrows nor will it provide cleaning drinking water or electricity to those who need it. Why not run a signature campaign to ask US President G.W. Bush to retire he nearing the end of his term with election approaching next year, so why not ask him to give up office an year earlier. That way the world be more secure and a better more peaceful place to live in. He has killed thousand of our soldiers and yet he cannot understand that war will not help safe guard this country. And he has plans to go on war with Iran, OMG.

  • Whoopi Goldberg Denies Slamming President Bush

    goldberg_whoopi-photo.jpg

Comedienne Whoopi Goldberg has denied slamming President George W. Bush at a Democratic fundraising event in 2004 – insisting rumors are a conspiracy to tarnish her name. The people who should be slammed are the ones who praise the job Bush has done. Who can deny that he has torn this country apart, gotten us into an unjust war over weapons that weren’t there, ruined our reputation abroad, and is piling up debt for our grandchildren? To compare him to a part of a woman’s anatomy is an insult to a woman’s anatomy. You go Whoopi. So what if she trash Bush plenty of famous people trash Bush. That should not affect her career. People are crazy. You should be able to have your own opinion. In the first place we are the ones who have elected him not once but twice so now if we are paying the price it is because it was are decision. It also makes clear that there are bad leadership qualities in our leaders today and we are the ones who are allowing them to get away with their bad work.

  • Bono Rings Up Liberty Medal

    bono-photo-vip.jpg
U2’s do-Gooding frontman was feted Thursday in Philadelphia, where he collected the city’s Liberty Medal for his humanitarian work and activism on behalf of Africa’s poor.
“When you are trapped by the poverty, you are not free. When trade laws prevent you from selling the food you grew, you are not free,” the “One” singer told a crowd of VIPs after receiving the accolade from former President George H.W. Bush. His words are so true, just ask any trader in the underdeveloped world or developing world about the bans that European countries and US has put on import of their products and farm produce, the duties are so high that it just makes it impossible for these countries to earn foreign currency from exports. We need to bring such issues to the fore of the common people of every developed country so that there is awareness that job are not only being eaten in the technology sector but also by the way of such trade embargos poorer countries are also being mistreated by the superior counterparts.

  • Theron ‘wants US soldiers home’

Theron plays a detective looking for the missing soldier
Hollywood actress Charlize Theron, who is promoting her latest movie at the Venice Film Festival, has said she hopes US troops in Iraq can come home.
The 32-year-old stars in the film, In The Valley of Elah, based on the true story of a soldier who goes missing after serving in Iraq.

“Nothing would give me more joy than to see them back in America,” the Oscar-winning star said.

Tommy Lee Jones and Susan Sarandon play the missing soldier’s parents.

    charlize-theron.jpg

Theron said: “[The soldiers] are doing a very, very important job and it’s a dangerous one. Hopefully they can come back and be looked after, that’s the least we can do for them.”

The movie is the second Iraq drama at this year’s festival – the first, Brian De Palma’s Redacted, premiered on Friday.

The Valley of Elah was written and directed by Paul Haggis, whose last film was the Oscar-winning Crash.

“I laugh when I hear these statements that Hollywood is jumping on the bandwagon because the American public is turning against the war,” Haggis said.

“We started work on the film in 2003, when the president had an 80% approval rating, everyone even in the neighbourhood where I live was driving around with flags on their cars, and the president was saying it was unpatriotic to even question this war,” he said.

He said financing the film was hard and thinks at the time it was “risky” to make.

Meanwhile, director Ken Loach also premiered his new film, It’s A Free World at the festival.

The movie takes a look at the exploitation of migrant workers in the UK.

Loach said he hoped it would generate attention on the plight of immigrants – legal or otherwise – who have flocked to the country from eastern Europe in recent years.

“On the one hand people say the economy couldn’t survive without the immigrant workforce. On the other, the right wing is saying, ‘Get these people out of our country’. It’s hypocrisy,” he said.

  • Angelina Jolie ends Iraq-Syria trip.

    angelina-jolie-irak.jpg

Angelina Jolie saw firsthand the plight of conflict refugees stranded in the blazing desert near the Syrian-Iraqi border in a visit this week to highlight their ordeal.

The American actress, who is a goodwill ambassador for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, traveled to Syria and Iraq on Monday and Tuesday, the agency said in a statement. Jolie also separately visited U.S. troops in the area.

“I have come to Syria and Iraq to help draw attention to this humanitarian crisis and to urge governments to increase their support for UNHCR and its partners,” Jolie was quoted as saying by the Geneva-based agency on Tuesday.

She headed home from Syria on Wednesday according to UNHCR officials, after a visit wrapped in secrecy and with no media coverage.

The 32-year-old star of the movie traveled to the al-Waleed refugee camp on the Iraqi side of the border and spoke to some of the 1,200 refugees stranded there, prevented from entering Syria, UNCHR said.

“It is absolutely essential that the ongoing debate about Iraq’s future includes plans for addressing the enormous humanitarian consequences these people face,” she said.

The camp is in a no man’s land between the two countries, one mile from the Iraqi border post and 4.5 miles from the Syrian border.

Jolie, who wore a blue flak jacket and a helmet when she arrived unannounced at the camp, was not immediately recognized by many of the refugees, a large number of whom are Palestinians who have been stranded in the desert encampment since December.

Unlike Iraqis, who are allowed to enter and settle in Syria, Palestinian residents of Iraq are mostly prevented from entering the country, leaving them stranded at the border.

Jolie spent two hours there talking with the refugees through a translator, taking notes, all the while surrounded by bodyguards, according to Qusai Mohammed Saleh, 33, a Palestinian refugee.

“I didn’t recognize her right away, but after she was introduced as Angelina Jolie, I remembered a little, from some of her movies,” he told The Associated Press by phone from the camp.

“She did not like the tragic situation,” Saleh said, adding that she inspected the camp’s medical and hygiene facilities.

Fellow refugee Awad Talha Awad, 48, said he had hopes the visit would make a difference. “Our situation is so difficult,” he said, adding that Jolie was “moved” by some of the conditions she witnessed.

“She felt the sun,” he said of the raging midday summer temperatures. “She did not make any promises but she said, ‘we will make an effort to resolve your situation.’”

UNHCR estimates that more than 4.2 million Iraqis have been displaced since the 2003 U.S.-led invasion, and of these, about two million have fled to neighboring countries, mainly Syria and Jordan, placing a heavy strain on their resources.

  • Leonardo DiCaprio ‘Not Inspired’ By Presidential Hopefuls

    dicaprio.jpg
Actor Leonardo DiCaprio has decided not to campaign for any of the 2008 U.S. presidential candidates, because none of the politicians in the running “inspire” him. I totally agree there is no one I would waste Vote on. I never get to vote for anyone it’s always against someone. I say we daft Gary Coleman or Larry Flint for President. Anyways who ever wins the race to be the President of USA, he will never be as smart as say Charlie Chaplin or have the sense of humor that Jay Leno has. With all the power to make a difference in our world the US administration spends more money on the war against terrorism and supports countries like Pakistan which is a breeding ground for all of the world’s terrorist activities. America Prez. talk loud on things but the never say on things the matter to the nation, soldiers are dying in Iraq and Afghanistan but he sleeps well in the White House that has nuclear attack safety bunkers incase of attack, but what protection did people have on the day of 9/11.
