Being the mother of Tom Cruise’s baby daughter has been so much fun that Katie Holmes tells “Entertainment Tonight” she’s ready to have more children.
“We’re having the best time, it’s so amazing”, Holmes, 28, said of the year she and Cruise have spent largely out of the spotlight. She gave birth to the couple’s first child, Suri, in April 2006.
“Yes, definitely”, she told the TV program when asked about the possibility of more kids. The interview airs Monday.
Cruise and his ex-wife, Nicole Kidman, have a 12-year-old son and 15-year-old daughter, and Holmes said the role of stepmother is one she relishes.
“The kids are so sweet, they’re so great with Suri and she lights up when she sees them”, she said. “We have so many kids in our house, there’s always this wonderful chatter and the great noise of kids.”
The actress, who recently returned to work filming the movie “Mad Money” with Diane Keaton and Queen Latifah, said her 44-year-old husband has played a key role in making the transition to motherhood an easy one.
“He’s a great father and so it came to no shock that when we had Suri he was amazing with the baby”, she said.
Although the Katie and Tom were rumored to have problems and the people expected the couple would fall in pieces, the expectations turned out to be fake. Now they look happier and even more in love with each other. Maybe very soon we will hear Katie saying she is pregnant with their second child.

They melt fast, but it’s great.” A snow cone truck pulled up to the set around 3 p.m. Friday, and as word spread among the cast and crew, a line quickly formed to share in the shaved ice and flavored syrup treats that are so popular in the South. Since shooting began on Mad Money, a comedy also staring Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah and Ted Danson, Holmes has treated the entire cast and crew – about 200 to 300 people – to a surprise. “The first Friday was smoothies,” the insider says. “Then we had the ice cream, pizza, cupcakes, Coke floats and now snow cones.” Hubby Tom Cruise and daughter Suri are frequent visitors to the set. Suri was there on Friday without Cruise. “She was walking down the hall today – someone waved and said ‘hi,’ and she just giggled,” says the source. “She’s a happy baby.”
