Alexander McQueen’s last collection previews to rave reviews in Paris
The last, unfinished collection of Alexander McQueen has previewed in Paris to rave reviews.
McQueen’s 16-piece autumn/winter collection was shown to an exclusive clutch of fashion scribes on Tuesday.
The fashion designer, deeply depressed, took his own life at the age of 40 in his Mayfair apartment in London in February. Fashion’s elite, gathered in Paris for its Fashion Week, is in mourning.
His last creations are inspired by paintings of the Old Masters, according to Christina Binkley of the Wall Street Journal. She writes: “Entire works of art by Botticelli, Jean Fouquet and Hans Memling were photographed and woven into jacquards, imprinted on silks or embroidered onto garments.”
AFP reports the appearance of the first model in McQueen’s showing caused audible gasps. The Times’ fashion director Hilary Alexander said: “The showing was an emphatic demonstration of the intense skill and artistry of McQueen, but all the more tragic for being such a brief and poignant reminder of what the fashion world has lost.”

Maternal Megan Fox thinks she’d make a great mum
Transformers star Megan Fox has said she thinks she will be a great mum as she’s ‘really maternal’.
The 23-year-old revealed motherhood is something she is desperate for in the near future.
She told W Magazine: “No one believes me when I talk about this, but I’m really maternal.
“I worry that because I’ve always wanted [kids] so much, as the world goes sometimes, I won’t be able to have them, even though I would be able to provide them with such an amazing environment.”
Fox is dating American actor Brian Austin Green.

Fans leave flowers, kisses outside Alexander McQueen store
Fans of Alexander McQueen paid their respects to the late fashion designer outside his shop in West Hollywood on Thursday.
Flowers, lit candles and even a lipstick kiss were left in tribute at the celebrated designer’s store on Melrose Avenue.
One message written in lipstick on the store’s front window read: “R.I.P. You Will Live on,” and was decorated with a kiss.
Another said: “You are a true visionary & artist of the highest order.”
All shared the common theme that the so-called bad-boy of fashion will be sorely missed.
McQueen’s L.A. store was closed on Thursday following the news of his death.
McQueen, 40, was found dead at his luxury mansion at his luxury million-pound flat in central London’s exclusive Green Park area.
It is been reported he hung himself after becoming depressed following the death of his beloved mum Joyce a week ago.

Halle Berry’s daughter Nahla is having golf lessons from her dad Gabriel Aubry.
Halle, 43, and model Gabriel, 33, have a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter Nahla and Gabriel admitted he is teaching the youngster how to play golf.
At the Maybach Golf Cup 2009 Tournament in California, he recently said: “She started playing golf! She has a little hole in the backyard.”
Asked if she is going to be a star player, he said: “Well, let’s just wait [and see].”
Gabriel, who is French-Canadian himself, is also teaching his little girl how to speak French as well.

Tom Cruise suing apparel company
An apparels company is planning to launch T-shirts which will be using images of Tom Cruise combined with slogans such as “Everything Turns Me On” & “Sex Addict” to sell their garments which has infuriated Tom and he plans legal action against the apparel company if at all they go ahead and put the T-shirts on the market.The star of such movies like Mission Impossible is planning to take every step needed to stop this from happening as he feels it would damage his image. Aaron Moss, Tom’s lawyer has sent a written legal warning to Addictiontree.com telling them not to advertise the garments using his image. But Addictiontree.com has not responded and intend to use Tom’s image on their T-shirts.
Gee man, these could just be the introductory slogan “Sex Addict” could soon be “Call Me For…” and later “The Key To Good Sex Is Me” if this is allowed to happen then Tom might become the favourite of the top porn movie makers in Hollywood. All in all not a bad career option once he retires from acting in big budgeted movies.

Celine Dion’s husband teaching child poker
Singer Celine Dion’s husband Rene Angelil, a gambling addict is teaching their 8 year-old son how to play poker, in the hopes it will teach him a healthy attitude towards gambling. The record boss has struggled with gambling addiction for over 30 years and now fear if he does not teach his son the right way to play cards then his son might fall into the same trap.Rene now takes time out regularly to teach his son Rene-Charles to play poker together. Angelil reveals, “Our son has superior intelligence, and it’s good that he’s learning in a good way.”
Rene admits that he got hooked to gambling so much so that he ended up bankrupt. He adds, “I’ve been a gambling addict for decades, and it’s just like being an alcoholic. I’ve lost more than I’ve won. Before marrying Celine, I used to be able to gamble because I would borrow money from the bank, since my cousin was the bank manager. Then my cousin left his job and I went bankrupt in 1982.”
I’m sure that he married Celine so that she could pay for his gambling deficits much like the US government is paying American banks for their deficits. At the age of eight this kids needs no poker lessons he needs to go fishing with his dad and to the zoo with mom.

YSL’s private art collection sold
The art collection of late fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent has gone under the hammer and there have been bids in the tune of £181 million for a piece the French couturier’s magnificent art collection. A painting by Henri Matisse which is a part of the collection has been auctioned for a record £31.4 million.Cuckoos on a blue and pink carpet smashed the previous record for similar work by the French painter set in 2007. This bid was made on the opening day of the 3 day auction of the collection that belongs to the late fashion designer and his former partner Pierre Berge.
Who says there is any kind of recession, at least these words are true for the utterly rich people who are willing to spend millions on a painting that would at the most be an object at a famous gallery or their Monte Carlo mansion.
Is there anything better these people have learnt to do with their money and does it at all make sense to anyone out there that £181 million worth of painting be bought when financial companies across the world are losing such money every month.

Barely three months into her marriage with Ryan Reynolds, Scarlett Johansson is already raring to start a family. The 24-year old actress, who has topped the sexiest list surveys for quite sometime, is still very much in love with her husband and hopes they can stay like this forever.While her love life is abloom, Johansson’s career is also heading into the right direction with her new movie “He’s Just Not That Into You”. Johannson admitted to experiencing the craziest time of her life the months before they got married. However, the two has already settled down quietly and is enjoying wedded blissfulness while waiting for Johannson to get pregnant. The actress may be young but she is already getting worried about her biological clock. On the other hand, getting pregnant at this time may juts be the perfect timing for Johansson who will be filming her next movie “Amazon” later next year.

Salma Hayek Obsessed With Breastfeeding
If there is one movie star who should get a starring role as breastfeeding endorser then it is Salma Hayek. Her daughter Valentina is already one year old but Hayek is still breastfeeding her to the point of becoming addicted to it. The more she breastfeeds her daughter she said, the more she is encouraged to continue doing so especially when she sees the positive effects of breastfeeding on her daughter.
The thousands of breastfeeding advocates might get biffed though because Hayek debunks the claim that breastfeeding can help a woman get rid of pregnancy pounds. Hayek, who gave birth in September last year, said this is a myth which is not true but she does not care if she is fat.
Hayek is taking motherhood seriously saying she wants her daughter to go into the world of fashion when she grows up, following the footsteps of her father Francois-Henri Pinault who is the head of Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta and Gucci. In fact she brings her daughter when she goes shopping and teacher her iconic names in fashion.
Despite being busy with motherhood, she also spends time as Pampers-UNICEF spokesperson in its bid to increase global awareness about neonatal and maternal tetanus. She even took time out to visit Sierra Leone in West Africa for the campaign. Under the campaign Proctor & Gamble, the company behind Pampers, would sponsor one tetanus vaccine for every specially-marked diaper pack sold before the year ends. Go-go Salma!

Rihanna for Gucci and UNICEF
Rihanna has just been selected by Gucci as the face of its new UNICEF campaign. The campaign is called ‘Tattoo Heart’ and it will offer a line of special edition Gucci products featuring a tattoo style heart theme. 25% of the proceeds from sales will benefit UNICEF. Gucci creative director Frida Giannini said that the fashion house selected the Barbadian babe for its first UNICEF ads because of her strong personality and feeling that “a musician and a beautiful woman was the perfect icon for this campaign.” I couldn’t have said that better myself. Rihanna is just perfect for their campaign. -
Jennifer Hudson Says Goodbye
Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother and young nephew will be laid to rest this week. A private Memorial service was held for the Hudson’s family this Monday morning but there’s no news as to whether the family will have a public service. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for any contributions to be sent to the newly created Hudson-King Domestic Violence Protection Fund, care of Seaway Bank and Trust, PO Box 19522, Chicago, Illinois, 60619. As for the suspected murderer William Balfour, he’s still being held as a person of interest in the case. Let’s hope that justice gets served soon. -
LL Cool J: Fashion Designer
LL Cool J recently launched a fitness book and now he’s doing just what every other rapper has done by launching a new clothing line exclusive to Sears. The rapper signed the deal back in May and he was recently in Chicago to hold a press conference for his collection. The LL Cool J Collection debuted in 450 stores with some locations having its own dedicated sections and is also being sold online. The marketing campaign includes shots of him with his wife and four kids and has ads online, by print and in stores. His line includes “embroidered denim, cotton hooded sweatshirts, fleur-de-lis bejeweled T-shirts and other items.” Items begin at $24 for shirts, some jeans at $50 and $60 for outerwear. -

The gorgeous Heidi Klum was celebrating the success at the Victoria’s Secret store at The Grove in Los Angeles.
She was wearing little fairy wings on her back and shared her children’s costumes for the Halloween holiday with the press reporters. She said, “Leni will be a bumblebee and the boys are both going to be Superman. Johan is completely easy, and he’ll be anything. He doesn’t care.”
About her own costume, she told, “I can’t say. It’s a surprise. I always have an outrageous outfit. I always try to top myself every year.”
I am sure that she herself will be SUPERGIRL because she is otherwise a supergirl and does not need the help of costumes to become one!!!

Jennifer Lopez to design exercise clothing
Jennifer Lopez is set to design her own range of exercise clothing.
The ‘Do It Well’ singer – who gave birth to twins Max and Emme in February – wants to create a line of affordable clothes that women can feel comfortable in while working out.
A friend of the star – who already has three other brands in her fashion empire J.Lo, Sweetface and JustSweet – said: “She has some street gear already in her lines, but she wants something exclusively for sneakers, yoga pants and dance gear. She wants it to look great in the gym and in the street, and to be affordable and functional.”
Following the birth of her twins, Jennifer splashed out $50,000 on a home gym to help her lose her baby weight after gaining almost 50lbs during her pregnancy.
A source said: “To motivate her, she’s splurged out on a $50,000 home gym for her New York mansion. She’s also consulted trainers, nutritionists and doctors, looking for the safest way to drop the weight in record time.”
Jennifer, 38, is also planning to start using food delivery programme Fresh Mommy, an all-natural food company which provides expectant or new mothers with healthy meals.

Fergie gets ‘fire’ from Latin routes
Fergie says she gets her “fire” from her Latin ancestry.
The Black Eyed Peas singer believes she inherited the passionate side of her character from her Mexican grandmother.
She said: “Yes, I have Mexican in my ancestry. My Dad’s grandmother was born in Guanajuato. I’m very proud of it – that’s probably where I get my fire! I love going to Mexico. Cabo San Lucas is my spot. I love to hang out by the pool, go fishing, shop for furniture, and I’ve taken painting classes over there. It’s beautiful.”
However, the 33-year-old singer admits she doesn’t like to put too much emphasises on her Latin roots. She added: “I don’t go around claiming it big time because there are many more full-bred Latinas that are out there to represent.”
Meanwhile, Fergie has revealed she is keen to start a family with fiance Josh Duhamel, and is planning to ask fellow pop star Gwen Stefani for parenting guidance.
She said: “I’d like to ask Gwen some advice about being a mom, because she’s done a really great job.” Gwen has a 22-month-old son, Kingston, with husband Gavin Rossdale, and is currently pregnant with the couple’s second child.

Madonna’s marriage ‘hangs by a thread’
Pop queen Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie have been living separate lives as their marriage hits the rocks, pals revealed yesterday. The troubled couple have even divided their homes into his and hers quarters – so they avoid each other, it was claimed.
They have shocked friends by spending months behaving as flatmates “who pass in the night” rather than husband and wife. Sources say the pair have both privately confessed that they do not think their seven-year marriage will survive much longer.
In January film director Guy, 39, furnished a wing of their new home in London’s Marylebone for his private use while Madonna, 49, took another quarter for herself.
A close pal said yesterday the couple tried to “reclaim the magic” with a romantic dinner – but immediately went back to living “like brother and sister”.
The pal said: “The marriage is hanging by a thread. No one doubts they adore their three kids – but the children seem to be the only reason they are living this strange loveless existence.”
Rumours about the couple’s problems have intensified in recent weeks.
It was claimed last night Madonna felt “badly let down” that Guy had not supported her at several high-profile public appearances. The source said: “There were rows after Guy didn’t turn up at Madonna’s Raising Malawi fundraiser at the UN HQ in New York last month. The event was incredibly important to her. Guy also wasn’t present at his wife’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame dinner last week.”

Fergie opens up about her battles with drug addiction and how it inspired her to help people with HIV in the April 2008 issue of Marie Claire. She talked about her gritty history, speaking of her childhood career and how it crystal meth entered her life. She then talks about the changes in her behavior because of her drug dependency and her subsequent downward spiral. Looking at where she is right now, you’d never know that all of that went on in her life. She’s really come a long way and she’s helping others with all her success. Kudos to you Fergie! -
Sean Preston’s Nightmares
Sure, the whole ordeal has been a nightmare. Now, it has been reported that Sean Preston, Britney spears’ two year old son has been having nightmares and has been sleeping with father Kevin Federline.
Insiders also say that he cried for his father when he was first allowed to see mother Britney again. “Jamie told Kevin that Britney handled the visit well. She actually did cry but that was only because Sean cried when she took them from Kevin.”
Britney is being allowed visits as long as they are observed by a therapist or her father Jamie Spears.

It looks like Britney Spears is up to her old tricks by making crazy requests of LA shopkeepers. Gatecrasher is reporting that Britney walked into a Betsey Johnson boutique on Melrose Ave. in LA and wanted them to copy a Dolce & Gabbana dress – than very day and in all white. When they explained to the pop wreck that they couldn’t do it, Britney decided to take a wig instead – a yellow one on a window mannequin for $100.
In other Britney news, her mother Lynne is reportedly singing praises of her ex-husband Jamie, telling people that he’s “stepped up to the plate”. He’s certainly doing better than you have!
