  • Jude Law lauds France’s Loire Valley

    SPL130747_010

Actor Jude Law sang the praises of France’s Loire Valley, where his parents have lived and worked for 15 years.

Law said: “I love any excuse for eating the finest gourmet meals, drinking the best wine and consuming the richest desserts.”

Law was presented in 2007 with the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres medal that recognises French and foreign nationals that have contributed to the country’s cultural inheritance in the Loire. He credits the discovery of French cinema as a teenager for inspiring him to become an actor whose most recent turn was as Hamlet on Broadway.

Law’s parents, Maggie and Peter, have split their time between London and the town of Saumur in France, where they operate a drama school. Law said: “My mum and dad have lived in France for 15 years, so really it is a country I share as my home. I come form a big, happy family so I’m delighted when I’m with them.”

Law is reportedly delighted the area is recognised for its fine wine, Chinon, Bourgeuil, the sparkling wines of Saumur and rich, sweet wine of Coteau du Layon, the Sunday Telegraph reports. Law, meanwhile, is a vegetarian. “I had a nasty experience with chicken in Indonesia,” he said. “It was served with its head and feet and it put me off for life.”

  • Rachel Weisz: Being a mum is just delicious

    SPL98940_012

Actress Rachel Weisz has revealed that she is the happiest she has ever been since becoming a mum, and described motherhood as “just delicious”.

The 39-year-old Oscar-winner, who has a three-year-old son Henry Chance with her director fiancé Darren Aronofsky, said: “It’s amazing and I’ve never been happier in my life. Being a mum is just delicious, and Henry is so scrumptious I could just eat him up.”

The British actress, who plays a mother who falls apart after the murder of her daughter in new movie The Lovely Bones, said becoming a mother has made her more efficient.

She said: “I’m sure a lot of mums say this but, oddly enough, I find I can get a lot more done since I had Henry.

“You become better at managing your time. Suddenly, in 45 minutes, you can get twice as much done as you once did.”

But despite her joy at becoming a mum, Weisz confessed that the demands of being a mother have made her want to pull her hair out at times.

She said: “I think one of the things that mums aren’t allowed to talk about enough to one another… is the times when you’re pulling your hair out at home with the kids. Those moments when everything is crashing in and you just feel like you’re going to scream…”

She added: “Because, even though children are the most precious things in the world, they are also set to test us. I think women are already stretched and pressured to be perfect and it kind of drives me crazy.”

She said: “When I was 15 I lived in a little Spanish city called Talavera de la Reina with the Lazaros, my exchange family. My Spanish mama Julia is an incredible cook and introduced me to the cuisine of the Iberian peninsula – which is always best home-cooked.

“In the evenings, the typical Spanish dinner is lighter than the meat and rice dishes often found at lunchtime. This menu is what you would find at my family’s house on a weeknight.

“Spanish tortilla cut into small pieces, some manchego, a glass of wine, gambas and pan con tomate. Perfect.”

“But Kelly and Luke have lasted longer than I thought. When he decided to propose to Kelly, he asked Ozzy for his permission first, which I liked. It showed he was respectful. But can you imagine how nervous he must have been asking Ozzy?”

Sharon has always expressed her desire for grandchildren and she said that she is now more ready than ever.

She said to Britain’s Love It magazine: “I’m ready to become a grandmother – I want hundreds of grandchildren. I couldn’t stand to be called Grandma, though. They’ll have to call me Shazza instead.”

  • Pete Doherty’s father issues

The singer is terribly distraught because of the fact that his father has ceased any type of contact with him until he can solve his drug issues. Pete Doherty said this about the strain on his relationship with his father: “It’s breaking my heart that for him the be-all and end-all of our relationship is whether or not there’s something despicable in my bloodstream. I’m coping mostly and I’m mostly clean, I won’t lie to you it is a struggle. My dad and I are estranged. In his mind if I’m still using in any way then I’m not his son. But my mom speaks to me secretly.” Too bad Pete Doherty’s conversations with his mom are no longer secret any more. Sadly enough, this type of “break-up” will most likely never be solved even if Pete Doherty does eventually give up his bad habits. As the old saying goes: you need a lifetime to build a reputation and only moments to destroy it.

  • Celine Dion’s husband teaching child poker

Singer Celine Dion’s husband Rene Angelil, a gambling addict is teaching their 8 year-old son how to play poker, in the hopes it will teach him a healthy attitude towards gambling. The record boss has struggled with gambling addiction for over 30 years and now fear if he does not teach his son the right way to play cards then his son might fall into the same trap.

Rene now takes time out regularly to teach his son Rene-Charles to play poker together. Angelil reveals, “Our son has superior intelligence, and it’s good that he’s learning in a good way.”

Rene admits that he got hooked to gambling so much so that he ended up bankrupt. He adds, “I’ve been a gambling addict for decades, and it’s just like being an alcoholic. I’ve lost more than I’ve won. Before marrying Celine, I used to be able to gamble because I would borrow money from the bank, since my cousin was the bank manager. Then my cousin left his job and I went bankrupt in 1982.”

I’m sure that he married Celine so that she could pay for his gambling deficits much like the US government is paying American banks for their deficits. At the age of eight this kids needs no poker lessons he needs to go fishing with his dad and to the zoo with mom.

  • Injuries not as bad – Rihanna’s cousin

A family member of R&B star Rihanna has downplayed the extent of the injuries suffered by her after her alleged fight with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown on the night of the Grammy Awards. The person supposedly her cousin says that star’s injuries are not “as bad as people make them sound.”

Brown can face possible imprisonment after be charged by the LAPD for making criminal threats following the heated argument. Rihanna has returned to her native Barbados where it is being said that she has been received medical attention at a hospital.

Rihanna’s cousin, Yvonne Fenty tells RadarOnline, “Rihanna is holding up well. Everyone is looking after her. Her injuries weren’t near as bad as people make them sound.”

Bullshit my ass here what does he mean ‘not as bad’ is he telling us that only if she had a broken leg or hand would it be a serious enough case to her fans to show concern. That’s a pretty callous and asinine thing for a relative to say-especially in the media.

When she becomes a witness Chris Brown would pee in his pants.

  • Domestic life not boredom for Julia Roberts

Julia Roberts is completely content being a full-time mother and remains happy because her 3 children keep her so busy, she’s “never bored.” She has been away from the limelight a some years now but it is evident that she is not missing it at all.

Julia is busy raising her 3 kids with husband Danny Moder; four year old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, and Henry, 20 months. Speaking to the Allure magazine she says, “I will never be bored again. Danny and I talk about, ‘What did we do with all the time we must have had?’ Because you don’t recognize it as such until you have all these little… time thieves running around your house.”

She also gives a peep into the reason for her family’s happiness “The coolest thing you can do for your children is to love each other in their presence. I’m the luckiest girl in town, I really am.”

Basically she has set Hollywood’s other married couples to become envious of her happiness, when most other stars are busy quarrelling day in day out Julia always seems to be the one to be blessed with a happy family. That because she is content and has her priorities in the right place. You are ‘COOL’ Julia.

  • Tom Cruise’s birthday present

Not for him, for his wife for her upcoming 30th birthday on December 18th. Tom is planning on taking her and his daughter Suri away on a vacation. A source close to the family said: “Tom realizes that Katie has been working very hard on the show, so when it’s over he’s planning on taking her on a romantic break with Suri too. They just want to spend some quality time together as a family and he feels a holiday would be the best way of doing that away from prying eyes. She will be in for a real treat.” Of course, a vacation away from prying eyes, sure, that’s why we’re all reading about it. In no time I’m sure we’ll find out about the location too. Again, I fail to understand these proceedings.

  • Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds seeking to become a family

After getting married incognito in September of this year, are very eager to start a family and are already intensely talking about having a child. A source recently stated: “Scarlett and Ryan are madly in love and want to start a family sooner rather than later.” Scarlett has recently finished work on her latest movie, “He’s not that into you” and will begin work on her next movie, “Amazon” at the beginning of the next year… so supposedly now would be a good time to get pregnant. I’m not quite sure what her next movie will be about, but I don’t know how well she will be able to play an Amazon with a child growing inside of her… but they can do wonders with make-up these days. So, without anything further to add, let the brooding begin!

  • Salma Hayek Obsessed With Breastfeeding

If there is one movie star who should get a starring role as breastfeeding endorser then it is Salma Hayek. Her daughter Valentina is already one year old but Hayek is still breastfeeding her to the point of becoming addicted to it. The more she breastfeeds her daughter she said, the more she is encouraged to continue doing so especially when she sees the positive effects of breastfeeding on her daughter.

The thousands of breastfeeding advocates might get biffed though because Hayek debunks the claim that breastfeeding can help a woman get rid of pregnancy pounds. Hayek, who gave birth in September last year, said this is a myth which is not true but she does not care if she is fat.

Hayek is taking motherhood seriously saying she wants her daughter to go into the world of fashion when she grows up, following the footsteps of her father Francois-Henri Pinault who is the head of Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta and Gucci. In fact she brings her daughter when she goes shopping and teacher her iconic names in fashion.

Despite being busy with motherhood, she also spends time as Pampers-UNICEF spokesperson in its bid to increase global awareness about neonatal and maternal tetanus. She even took time out to visit Sierra Leone in West Africa for the campaign. Under the campaign Proctor & Gamble, the company behind Pampers, would sponsor one tetanus vaccine for every specially-marked diaper pack sold before the year ends. Go-go Salma!

  • Angelina Jolie is breastfeeding

There is one actress in Tinsel Town who definitely does not need a publicist (Well I must say – one actress other than Lindsay Lohan).

The sizzling and spicy Angelina Jolie always finds new ways to stay on the front page. The lovely actress keeps adopting and keeps reproducing from time to time.

Her recent venture to become the talk of the town is her photo on the cover of November issue of W magazine in which she is breast-feeding one of her new born twins.

Angelina Jolie has also become a role model for new mothers to breastfeed their babies. Andi Silverman, who is the author of “Mama Knows Breast”, commented on the photo, “I think it is fabulous. Seeing a celebrity like Angelina Jolie breast-feed can be a role model to encourage women to make a choice that is wonderful for their baby.”

Well done, Keep feeding the way you should, Jolie!

  • Madonna’s marriage ‘hangs by a thread’

Madonna's marriage 'hangs by a thread'

Pop queen Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie have been living separate lives as their marriage hits the rocks, pals revealed yesterday. The troubled couple have even divided their homes into his and hers quarters – so they avoid each other, it was claimed.

They have shocked friends by spending months behaving as flatmates “who pass in the night” rather than husband and wife. Sources say the pair have both privately confessed that they do not think their seven-year marriage will survive much longer.

In January film director Guy, 39, furnished a wing of their new home in London’s Marylebone for his private use while Madonna, 49, took another quarter for herself.

A close pal said yesterday the couple tried to “reclaim the magic” with a romantic dinner – but immediately went back to living “like brother and sister”.

The pal said: “The marriage is hanging by a thread. No one doubts they adore their three kids – but the children seem to be the only reason they are living this strange loveless existence.”

Rumours about the couple’s problems have intensified in recent weeks.

It was claimed last night Madonna felt “badly let down” that Guy had not supported her at several high-profile public appearances. The source said: “There were rows after Guy didn’t turn up at Madonna’s Raising Malawi fundraiser at the UN HQ in New York last month. The event was incredibly important to her. Guy also wasn’t present at his wife’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame dinner last week.”

  • Lily Allen Slams Young Mothers

    Lily Allen Slams Young Mothers

Lily Allen was known for having a sharp tongue; previously slagging off fellow stars and being generally bitchy. But then she claimed that the new look Lily no longer had the low confidence that was the cause of her nastiness, after losing a stone and a half.

However, it was recently revealed that the singer hit out at young mothers, saying, “People are having kids too young and nothing is being done about it.”

Despite the fact she is expecting her first child at the young age of only 22.

Apparently she said this before finding out she was expecting…so she’s not as contradicting as she sounds. After revealing her first pregnancy with Chemical Brothers star Ed Simons, Lily insists she is ‘thrilled’.

I guess it wasn’t a planned pregnancy then guys?
