No Profit for U2
U2 has been touring the world for the last three months and while the shows are selling out, the band has yet to make a dime off of it because of the high cost of the stage set up. The Claw, as it is called, is their portable stage, and it costs around $750,000 to construct and transport for every single show. Bono and the rest of the guys aren’t expected to turn a profit of any kind until they finish the North American leg of the tour this month. Let’s be honest though, they already have heaps of money anyway. However, it is nice to know that they’re putting on a good show for their fans even though it might not be the cheapest option.

Michael Jackson’s tour promoter says he insisted on having a 24/7 doctor like Obama
Michael Jackson was insistent about taking his personal doctor with him on his doomed London tour despite being advised against it, says promoter Randy Phillips.
Phillips, who is chief executive of AEG Live, the company behind the 50-concert series, was with Jackson when he was in a state of cardiac arrest.
He told Britain’s Sky News that he advised the singer against bringing Conrad Murray, a trained cardiologist, due to the cost. “Michael told me, ‘You don’t understand. My body is the machine that fuels this business and I need personal care and I want a doctor 24/7 like President Obama would have, and this is my doctor’.”
Phillips said Jackson told him Murray had been his doctor for three years. He said Jackson insisted on having him on staff throughout the rehearsals and the run of upcoming UK shows.
Phillips said he was outside the hospital room while Jackson was being worked on for an hour-and-a-half – and that it seemed an eternity.
“I was sitting in a chair right outside the … operating room, and there was tons of activity, and they were trying to resuscitate him and save him and working really hard, the doctors, nurses, everybody … I sat there … it seemed, honestly, it seemed like an eternity. But it took about an hour, an hour-and a-half before the nurse came out and told [manager] Frank [DiLeo] and I that there was no hope.”
He said it was Murray who broke the devastating news of Jackson’s death to the megastar’s three children.
“I stood at the doorway when they went in and they told them and just the look of fear in their faces … it was hard,” Phillips said. “I’ll think about that the rest of my life. But they seem to be doing really well now.”

It seems the singer is on the fast lane in her career and, due to her ever rising popularity, NBC Dateline will be making a new show just for her. An extra hour per week of Taylor Swift with all that her fans’ hearts can desire: concert footage, scenes from the tour, scenes from the tour bus… you know, really hardcore fan material. The kind of material that will end up being sold as bootlegs to the highest bidder. And who says piracy affects recording artists? Would Taylor Swift had gotten this much attention and this large a fan base if her music had only spread through the thick mists of CD sales?

Britney’s Stripped Down Concert
For the last stop on their North American tour in Montreal, Britney Spears’ back up dancers came out in a very revealing style. As a prank that they pulled on the pop star, the guys dropped their trousers during the performances of ‘Boys’ and ‘If You Seek Amy’. All the male dancers stripped down to pink briefs that said “True Brit” on the waistline. Yummy! I bet Brit had a lot of fun with that one. I wonder if the dancers had to get conservator and father Jamie Spears to approve of the prank before actually going through with it.

Lady Gaga’s The Fame Ball Tour kicks off this week in San Diego and is sure to be filled with the pop sensation’s offbeat glitz and a cast of unusual acts to fit the bill. Cinema Bizarre’s support for the The Fame Ball tour will span all 23 dates which will also include Chester French and The White Tie Affair.

The Pussycat Dolls who are with Britney Spears on her ‘Circus’ tour are having to work very hard because Britney is using a very high-tech rotating circular stage which means fans can see the widely open backs of the all girls band if they do not keep moving in line with the massive revolving stage.The all girls group will feature as the support act on the entire 42-date Circus tour and now The Pussycat Dolls are putting in great efforts to learn how they can best avoid their backsides getting all the attention of fans.
Frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger who is currently dating F1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton says, “It’s hard because your butt cheeks are always facing part of the crowd. So you constantly wanna keep it moving and be able to spread the love everywhere – even though your backside is to some of the people.”
Believe me, Nicole, the people are more than happy to be checkin’ out your butts. And I hope you do not disappoint fans cos’ they are paying for that as well and fans think your butt cheeks are priced into the ticket price.

Britney Spears American Tour Dates Announced
The ball just keeps rolling for Britney Spears and well the pop singer has delighted fans by announcing the dates of the North American leg of her upcoming world tour – and she will be giving performances in 20 different cities.Britney Spears will be performing in cities such Los Angeles, Washington & Dallas on the tour that will commence in March and will run till the last week of April. That’s not all there’s more fantastic news for fans the Pussycat Dolls will be supporting the singer while she’s on tour. That’s really going to create mayhem and fans are gonna go berserk.
Well now that she announced her tour dates and the release of the album too happening what we will have to wait and see is how well the album does. I guess the reps for Britney will be working over time talking to her record company trying to get hour by hour updates on the latest sales figures. I wish the sales figures are good.

Britney Spears joins Madonna on “Sweet and Sticky” Tour
It is definitely a treat to watch a live concert of a pop queen like Madonna but there is no parallel if the pop princess Britney Spears also joins the extravaganza.
It makes me feel excited even thinking of that but the fans saw Britney Spears join Madonna on the stage of Madonna’s concert at Dodger Stadium in L.A.
Britney Spears joined the Madonna for her third song wearing a white ruffled dress shirt and loose black pants as compared to Madonna’s trademark bra and penty combo.
Justin Timberlake also joined Madonna on stage but only after the beautiful Britney Spears left the stage.
Other celebrities who attended the concert included Jennifer Lopez, Heidi Klum, Drew Barrymore, Kate Moss, Ryan Seacrest, Fergie, Lucy Liu and Elizabeth Banks.

The Pussycat Dolls for Xbox
The Pussycat Dolls were recently in Sydney, Australia for the Xbox Sounds event at the Sydney Opera House. The event is a first in a series of Xbox Sounds concerts which will see music artists performing throughout the summer at iconic Australian locations. The concert series will take place between October 2008 to April 2009. PCD performed songs from their recently released second studio album called ‘Doll Domination’ including the Platinum single ‘When I Grow Up’. At the event, the Dolls also tried out ‘Lips’, the new Xbox 360 singing game that was announced at E3 and will be launching in December. -
Johnny Depp Live in Concert
According to a radio station in Florida, Johnny Depp will be performing with his old band, The Kids, in two South Florida concerts which will go on August 29th and August 30th. The gig will reportedly be held at Club Cinema in Pompano Beach. Is he really doing this? Apparently, Johnny can still rock out. The question is, is he still any good? Why can’t they just stick to what they do best? Let’s hope his two gigs won’t ruin the rest of his career. Then again, this is Johnny Depp we’re talking about. I doubt it will be the case.

Britney Spears filming reality TV show
Britney Spears is rumoured to be filming a new reality TV show.The ‘Piece of Me’ singer – who filmed ‘Britney and Kevin: Chaotic’ with her ex-husband Kevin Federline in 2005 – has reportedly ordered her entourage to carry professional video cameras with them at all times to capture her antics on film.
A source said: “Britney’s bodyguards and other staff members have been told to carry video equipment with them wherever they go so they don’t miss a thing. Whether Britney is high or low, feeling happy or sad, the cameras are there catching it all. Some of the footage is really explosive and it’s going to be must-see TV. Britney thinks a new reality show is just the thing she needs to help her kick start her career and prove to her fans she has put her recent troubles behind her.”
The singer – who received rave reviews when she appeared in two episodes of US TV sitcom ‘How I Met Your Mother’ earlier this year – was even videoed by her assistant while on holiday in Mexico this year, and her bodyguards have regularly been seen filming her.
Britney recently shot footage for Madonna’s upcoming Sticky and Sweet Tour. The footage, which includes the pair gyrating against each other and Britney losing her mind when she gets stuck in a lift, will be screened to fans of Madonna’s via 20ft screens.

Keith Urban Gets Fans to Sing to Nicole Kidman
Wow, what a birthday surprise. While performing to a crowd at Chicago Soldier Field on Saturday night, Keith Urban told fans that Nicole had celebrated a birthday the evening before.He went on, “So it would be nice to have 50,000 people sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to her.” He then brought her onstage to enjoy her impromptu serenade.
The couple seemed very happy. Nicole is due with their first child any day now.

Celine Dion Under Fire for Water
While Celine Dion is off continuing her ‘Taking Chances’ World Tour, the 40-year old singer has been getting a lot of criticism for her 9,800-square foot estate that consumed over 6.5 million gallons of water last year. The water usage is 100 times as much as the average resident and she hasn’t even moved in yet! Sierra Club’s Drew Martin spoke on the matter saying “People are pretty much permitted to use as much water as they want. [The district] has allowed people to over-water… The state’s basically going to run out of water because we do not restrict what people use in the first place.”

Celine Dion Back in Vegas
Celine Dion was spotted signing autographs for fans after she performed at the O2 Arena in London, her first trip to the UK in over ten years. It is being reported that the 40-year old singer is in negotiations to be brought back to Caesars to headline again starting at the end of 2009 or early 2010. AEG Live, responsible for booking the venue at Caesars, released a statement regarding the reports saying “Right now Celine’s focus is on her worldwide tour. We begin the North American tour in August. We love Celine and always keep the door open for her to return to Las Vegas if she wishes.”

Leona Lewis told to shape up for US
Leona Lewis has been told to shape up if she wants lasting success in the US.
The ‘Bleeding Love’ singer, who recently topped The Billboard album and singles charts, reportedly needs a ’sexier’ image so her team have hired Mariah Carey’s personal trainer.
A source said: “Leona has done brilliantly in the US. But some of her team think she needs to be a bit sexier if she wants to have the longevity of female artists like Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson or Madonna. Her looks needs to be more polished. They think that having Leona work with Mariah’s trainer Patricia Gay would be a treat for her because she adores Mariah.”
Leona, 23, will reportedly fly to the Caribbean for ‘intensive sessions’ with Patricia to help get her into shape.
Mariah recently revealed she regularly flies Patricia – who helped Mariah shed around 30lbs – from St. Barts to her New York apartment for their training.
The ‘Touch My Body’ star has insisted she can’t see any similarities between Leona’s music and her own and claims there will never be a “new” Mariah.
She said: “Honestly, there has been so many, ‘This is the new her,’ and I’m like, ‘OK, show me the new her.’ And I’m not particularly talking about this girl Leona, because I only heard her once and I didn’t really hear a true similarity, particularly in the style of music.”

Catch her if you can as Amy Winehouse is set to do just one appearance on the UK festival circuit this year. The only chance to see the wreck that is Wino in concert this summer is at Bestival on the Isle of Wight in September. The singer has agreed to be the Saturday headline act. I wish all of you, who are set to buy tickets expecting to see her, a ton of luck. You’re all quite aware of her history. Here’s to hoping that she shows up. But if her hubby gets out of jail early and goes bonkers with Wino and the drugs again, don’t hold your breath. -
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes See Celine Dion in Vegas
Enjoying a two day visit to Las Vegas, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes finish up the trip by attending a Celine Dion concert at Caesar’s Palace.
Sources say the couple was very gracious and happily signed autographs for fans before the show. They then sat down to watch the two and a half hour show.
After the show, Tom and Katie went and spent some time meeting Celine. She said she was both excited and nervous about having them watch her performance.
Also that night, the couple enjoyed a romantic dinner at the SW Steakhouse at the Wynn. Another diner says they were holding hands and were “very lovey dovey”.
Thanks, but I’ve lost my appetite.
