  • Mel Gibsons drink-driving charge wiped from record

    Actor Mel Gibson’s infamous 2006 drink-driving conviction has been officially wiped from his record.

    A Malibu judge signed legal documents today to expunge the arrest, during which Gibson made anti-Semitic and sexist remarks.

    This means that, in the eyes of the courts, the driving under the influence (DUI) incident never happened.

    Gibson asked for the conviction to be wiped, after successfully completing the terms of his three-year probation.

    The Braveheart star was arrested in Malibu, in the early hours of 28 July, 2006, after police clocked him driving at more than 85mph.

    A breath test indicated that the actor’s blood-alcohol level was 0.12 per cent. In California, a driver is considered legally intoxicated at 0.08 per cent.

    Gibson was caught up in further controversy as reports emerged that he had made anti-Semitic and sexist remarks to a female policewoman, calling her “sugar tits”.

    The star later issued two apologies through his publicist.

    He pleaded no contest to misdemeanor DUI and was given three years’ probation, which he has now completed.

    Gibson was not in court for today’s hearing.

  • Lindsay Lohan goes against the doctor’s opinion

    The singer and actress was recently greatly offended by the fact that a celebrity doctor, Drew Pinsky, who has a reality show where he treats people for various addictions, said that she will eventually hurt herself very badly before finally becoming sober. Lindsay Lohan wrote the following on her twitter page on the matter: “I thought REAL doctors talked to patients in offices behind closed doors. Am I wrong? Hmmmmm. I think NOT. Yay!” Wow… now that one was below the belt, even for Lindsay Lohan. REAL doctors, she says? I’m sure Dr. Drew Pinsky is just a fragment of the entertainment industry’s imagination then.

  • Lindsay Lohan needs help staying sober:


    The actress has apparently asked Stephen and Daniel Baldwin for help to stay sober. A source said this about Lindsay Lohan’s predicament: “Lindsay is still able to go to work and meetings and do normal things, but she wants to remove the negative influences in her life.” Also, Daniel Baldwin who has supposedly battled addiction to cocaine since 1989 had this to say about helping Lindsay Lohan: “Lindsay’s doing great, her sobriety is the most important thing to her. She is taking all the necessary measures and actions for her continued health.” I wouldn’t have pecked Lindsay Lohan for such a heavy drinker. Maybe the arrest warrant from last week wasn’t that “unexplainable” after all. It seems there will be no more spending long, meaningful nights with Mr. Daniels for Lindsay Lohan anymore.

    The troubled singer has reportedly been stealing booze from the hotel she’s staying at in St. Lucia after she has been denied alcohol from the whole staff. Sources and guests said the following: “We keep catching her crawling past bars or hiding behind chairs. She grabs guests’ drinks and runs off like a squirrel with a nut.”, “One minute she is very pleasant saying, ‘Alright darling’ and talking to people and having photos taken. Then next she is throwing things and swearing her head off.”, She’s like a child craving attention. It’s embarrassing.” Considering this is Amy Winehouse we’re talking about here, I can’t say I’m that surprised. I mean, no more drugs, you have to get away with something. And that “with a nut” bit makes me imagine Amy running off holding hands with a nut-job, singing anthems of deluded happiness.

  • Hollywood heartthrob Johnny Depp confesses to alcohol overdose


    Johnny Depp has made a stunning statement where he has said that he “poisoned himself” because he could not keep up with the sudden fame when he became one of the most recognized faces in Hollywood.

    Usually Johnny Depp is quite tight-lipped but he tells that he partied so hard in the 90s just in an attempt to find a way how to deal with his meteoric ascent to superstardom.

    In a comment made a few days ago he said: “I never wanted to be the guy people looked at. I felt I could only be myself when I was alone, that I turned into some kind of novelty. The only way I could get through that time was to drink. I poisoned myself with alcohol for years but I’ve never been into drugs in the way it was sometimes made out.”

    Most people just go with the flow and ride the wave till they can handle it and then end up like Amy Winehouse, or basically in the gutter at night and their body guards pick them up and leave them home. Johnny managed to control things around him and is a better off today. He is still the superstar because he did not let alcohol take over him.

    You would think he’d be home with pregnant girlfriend Camille, but instead, he’s in South American partying. Apparently Matthew Mc thought we wouldn’t know if he headed south of the border.

    So, thankfully for us, others in the bar had camera phones and snapped pics of him. Seems he was a stumbling drunk and also enjoyed groping the women around the bar.

    When drink driving it seems everyone gets his or her come-uppance eventually. Lindsay Lohan may have thought she got off easily after only spending 84 minutes of her 24 hr sentence in jail. The actress was also sentenced to 10 days community service; some of which she has served with the Red Cross.

    However four of her days are not something to be looking forward to. The 21 year old will spend two days alongside corpses in a hospital morgue and two days in the A&E department.

    The jobs are designed to show Lindsay the consequences of her crime. I wonder if it will have the desired effect…

    Troubled movie star Owen Wilson has rejoined Hollywood’s never-ending party after attempting suicide in August. The Wedding Crashers star was spotted drinking heavily at the Viceroy hotel in Santa Monica, California on October 5, and fellow revelers watched as he staggered out of the place. I think it’s probably not a good idea to be drinking when you’re depressed. But then you can expect only that from a troubled Hollywood celebrity to go even more into trouble when still not out of trouble. Probably he has still not recovered fully from his depressions and that’s why he thought that to forget his sorrows for a while it would be a nice idea to booze. He doesn’t want to get out of this depression and with these acts he is showing to all of us that he likes the depression and is getting used to a life with depression written all over it, some day he will repent when he has another tryst with high depression and suicide.

    Foxy Brown has been sentenced to one year in jail for violating her probation. As of right now, she is already serving her sentence on Rikers Island where she’s spent the last two weeks leading up to her trial.

    Judge Melissa Jackson slammed Foxy’s pleas for mercy and called her a ‘great actress’ and saying that if this was the first time she’d apologized, she might have been believable. Too bad it wasn’t.

    It should be interesting to note that if Foxy serves full term, she will be giving birth in prison. Harsh. Where’s her Paris Hilton/Nicole Richie jail story when she needs it?

  • Samuel L. Jackson Visits Troubled Owen Wilson

    Samuel L. Jackson was among the well-wishers who visited Owen Wilson in the hospital on Monday. Jackson was in no mood to chat to the press gathered outside Los Angeles’ Cedars Sinai Medical Center when he arrived to spend a little time with his ailing pal. Some sources claim he cut his wrists and took a number of pills. I’m waiting for them to say he was hospitalized for “exhaustion.” Just wait for a couple days till when Owen’s reps come out with a planned conference or speech about the health of the actor, and then will be the time to see all the innocuous and funny excuses they will come up with. Well this really not the time to gag about his health and things. Let us leave him alone and recover coz once he’s out the barrage of question and counter gossips that would make headlines would drive him crazy, spare a thought for the poor guy.

    John Travolta’s wife Kelly Preston has opened a new Scientology rehab center on her native Hawaii. The new drug rehabilitation clinic, which follows the principals of Preston’s religion, will use tried and tested alternative methods to ween addicts off painkillers and hard drugs. Why can’t celebs just stay out of rehab? Either creating one or going thru them. Nobody in h’wood succeeds in rehab because they go to country club facilities that cater to their every whim. They’re a slap in the face for people who go thru serious rehab, go to AA meetings and really WANT to turn their lives around. a rehab in Hawaii? I don’t drink, snort, pop or shoot, but sign me up! It sounds like a great vacation…even if it does subscribe to the whacked out “religion” of Scientology.

    It seems as if a day cannot go by without Britney Spears being present at the top of the Hollywood news list. Just days after hitting a parked car there is no escaping trouble for her. An extra from her secretly filmed music video told US Weekly that Britney had a naked pool party after shooting. He said that the pool party turned into a game of Truth or Dare and that Britney was the first to undress followed by others. This behaviour has gotten her into some hot water this time. People magazine reported that Britney’s ex, Kevin Federline has gone to his lawyer to make a request for sole custody of their two children. Papers were filed yesterday asking the Judge for the kids. Ever since their split Britney has been on a downward spiral. It’s not as simple as a drug addiction, its actual mental decline. The girl is literally going crazy. Losing her kids would be terrible but if she can’t take care of herself how will she ever take care of them?

    It’s going to be a hot, dry August for Vivica A. Fox. A Los Angeles judge has ordered the actress to abstain from drinking alcohol until she is arraigned on DUI charges on Sept. 5
    Tsk, tsk. At her age she should be setting an example. Not acting like Lindsay, Paris and Nicole. What is it with these celebrities? If you’re drinking, leave the car at home and take a freaking cab. It’s not as if they can’t afford it. Even if they hire a good limo and a big chauffeur driven car it will cost them in the range of under a thousand dollars which they would pay for a designer habd bag or on a flashy fashion accessory anyways so why run the risk of being caught by the police. I think Paris Hilton and others have made it a fashion statement of being caught on DUI and then the next day the media publish your pics and make u a cult figure and many think that this will make them iconic and stuff like that. But they won’t realize that there are losing fame and acceptance amongst a large number so fans. Who cares put yourself in the gutter and stay happy.

  • Sizemore Gets a Lighter Sentence

    Recently actor Tom Sizemore was busted for the possession of meth amphetamine. He is best known to some for his role in the movie Black Hawk Down. He was sentenced to sixteen months in prison for his crime but received the good news today that it would be cut down by half to only eight months. Having already spent two hundred and thirteen days behind bars he will receive some credit for that. Although it doesn’t seem that he is getting even a percentile of the sympathy Paris Hilton got for her measly three week stay. Sizemore apparently begged the judge tearfully last week to give him another chance to get clean. An addiction like crystal meth can destroy someone’s life entirely. I think it’s a shame that the world cares more about an irresponsible debutante than they do a man who really is in trouble.

    Justin Long is a master thief. He started back in 1999 when he stole scenes from Tim Allen in “Galaxy Quest.” Since then he’s robbed Vince Vaughn (”Dodgeball”), Lindsay Lohan (”Herbie Fully Loaded”) and Jennifer Aniston (”The Break-Up”), among others. The actor was in two minds whether to accept Bruce Willis offer to play role in Die Hard 4.0 or take up an offer in a romantic movie as he has never had the chance to play a romantic charcter. But after doing the movie he is pleased that he took the decision to play the villian’s role next to Bruce Willis. I would like to see Paris Hilton be the bad guy. That would be fun. Let her play a diabolical super-scientist or something like that. She is sort of like the female Jeremy Irons — let’s face it, he said about who would he like to play the villians role in Die Hard 5. Ya, she would be nice in a villians role. She could play a drug mafia, drive a car fast without a licsense and have the cops chase her. She can do it but she ain’t got the acting skills to look like a villian.

    Another drunken celebrity DUI? What good use of American liberty! The ‘race’ card wouldn’t work….guilty is guilty regardless of the colour of your skin. What has these celebrities done with their so-called chauffeurs? Oh dear! These guys in Hollywood would never go to a party without their chauffeurs and in these big limos but when they do not have a license or are high, that’s the exact time they like to play into the hands of the law. When caught, they cry fouls and make stupid statements. Drunk is drunk maybe these celebrities all need a breathalyzer installed in their cars so they can’t start them unless they are sober. The breathalyzer does not know what color you are! So why hold the cop guilty for a mistake that you have committed and then he was just doing his duty, something he should be doing now if you can correct yourself it would make life better for yourself as well.

    It’s little wonder that so many Hollywood celebrities turn out to be eccentric weirdoes. We lavish them with heaps of cash and bizarre levels of adoration; throw in limitless access to sex and drugs. Tom the Saving Private Ryan actor was taken away in handcuffs after he surrendered for a court hearing on charges he violated probation when a police found drugs in his car. If the police actively starts checking car and homes of all A-list celebrities most of them could be found having drugs with them, I can bet on that. Most of these celebrities start drugs as fun and to be in the mix of the culture and slowly get addicted to it. After a few years it becomes a habit and really damages the person consuming the drug and a rehab is the only way out of the mess.
