  • Kate Winslets marriage reportedly hit the rocks after making movie with hubby

    SPL163157_001

Kate Winslet’s marriage to director Sam Mendes hit trouble when they worked together on movie Revolutionary Road, according to reports.

Mendes directed the movie with wife Winslet, 34, co-starring with Leonardo DiCaprio, in 2008.

A source said to UK newspaper Daily Mirror: “Working and living together was incredibly intense and it basically overwhelmed their relationship.

“The pair have a very different work ethos. Whereas Sam wanted to switch off after a long day, Kate liked to analyse every nuance of her performance. It was just too much.”

  • Sean Penn says his Haiti mission critics can get cancer for all he cares

Rogue actor Sean Penn raged over critics who say his Haiti rescue mission was a bid to raise his profile.

Penn, who was credited with rescuing a woman and child in the earthquake-ravaged nation, told CBS News his critics could get rectal cancer for all he cared.

He said: “I guess I’ve been so away from it all and our tent camp in Haiti that I haven’t had an awful lot of time to pay attention to them. Do I hope that those people die screaming of rectal cancer? Yeah. You know, but I’m not going to spend a lot of energy on it.”

Digital Spy reports the actor pointed out that his 18-year-old daughter and 16-year-old son joined the Haiti mission. He explained: “I think they’ve had the experience, as I have, that the first person served by the service is the server. You know, there’s nobody in the world that isn’t looking for a kind of purpose in life, and tangible purpose is the most immediately recognisable. There’s no time that you’re over there, there’s not something to do to lend a hand.”

  • Michael Douglas and Glenn Close reunited on TV 22 years after Fatal Attraction

Fatal Attraction stars Michael Douglas and Glenn Close were reunited on screen for the first time in 22 years to reminisce on an Oscars TV special.

The pair tried to kill each other in the classic movie about a cheating husband’s affair going disastrously wrong – but they shared a warm hug and some memories.

Close recalled how she drank half a pitcher of margaritas for a steamy elevator sex scene in her role as an obsessed scorned mistress.

The stars were brought together by Oprah Winfrey for her Oscars Special.

Close told Douglas how she was gripped by the original script but had doubts about the infamous scene where her character literally boils a bunny.

She said: “I thought it was over the top.”

And recalling the elevator sex scene, she said: “I asked for a pitcher of margaritas and I drank about half of it.”

Douglas joked: “You were pretty good. I was a very happy guy.”

Close was “so mad” when the ending of the movie was changed to see her character shot dead by Douglas’s screen wife in a dramatic finale. But Douglas told her: “You were so good in the part everybody wanted you to be killed.”

After watching the classic clips, Douglas also sighed: “Man, I got older. You still look fantastic.”

  • Alec Baldwin revealed he was surprised to be picked for the gig

    SPL152996_005

Oscars co-host Alec Baldwin revealed he was surprised to be picked for the gig.

Baldwin, the 30 Rock star, comedian and on-screen lawyer in many movies, was chosen along with Steve Martin to guide the hallmark event through its well-worn paces on Sunday.

Baldwin said: “Adam Shankman called me to ask if I’d [host] with Steve Martin, and I had to make sure he had the right number. So I said, ‘You know who you’re calling, right? This is 212′.”

Baldwin was last year self-deprecating when he in effect called his acting career a shemozzle.

Digital Spy notes Baldwin’s comments when he was asked last month if he ever considered another career. Baldwin was honoured at a New York lawyer’s gathering for his many roles as a lawyer. He said: “I didn’t know if I wanted to join a field that was becoming as crowded and choked as law was.”

  • Courtney Love’s Ed Norton business

If you want a good story, check out Courtney Love’s twitter page and you won’t be disappointed. It seems the singer has decided to share with the rest of the world how Ed Norton supposedly owes her three hundred-thousand dollars and how she plans to involved the FBI if he doesn’t pay up. Also, it looks like Brad Pitt is involved in Courtney Love’s interesting story of debt, drama and most likely drunkenness. The X Files probably have nothing on Courtney Love… somebody might consider getting her to write a new show, a sort of grunge-universe Twilight Zone. That kind of show would sell big time.

    SPL51230_058

Actor Charlie Sheen will face three charges over his Christmas Day bust-up with wife Brooke Mueller – but the couple are now allowed to contact each other.

The star was formally charged with felony menacing and two misdemeanours – third-degree assault and criminal mischief – when he appeared at a court in Aspen, Colorado, on Monday.

  • Clive Owen ‘cried’ while shooting scenes for Boys Are Back

    SPL87420_011

Boys Are Back star Clive Owen has admitted he ‘cried’ while shooting touching scenes for the new movie.

Owen, 45, took on the real-life role of British journalist Simon Carr in the new flick.

The movie is based on Carr’s memoirs of losing his wife and taking care of their two sons.

Owen said: “Every time I read the scene where I’m telling a boy his mother may not be around much longer, I cried.

“Just the whole idea of that conversation was really painful.

“The film is an exploration of grief, loss and parenting from a guy’s perspective but it’s never heavy or sentimental, just beautifully rough.”

  • Stephen Baldwin regrets Miley Cyrus tattoo

    SPL144910_044

Celebrity Big Brother star Stephen Baldwin said he regrets the Miley Cyrus tattoo he had done.

The 43-year-old actor, who recently appeared in the UK reality show, told how he wished he had never had his body inked in reference to the Disney character.

Talking about his Hannah Montana tattoo, he said: “My daughters are big Hannah Montana fans and we met her at an event at the White House.

“She saw a tattoo of my wife’s name on my arm and told me I should get a Hannah Montana tattoo. I said if she gave me a guest-starring role on her show, I’d get the tattoo.”

He added: “I’ve already got 17 tattoos so another one doesn’t make a difference. I got a small one of her initials and next time I saw her, I showed her and she nearly fell off her chair.

“It’s unfortunate, I’ve lived up to my part of the bargain but she’s not yet to give me a guest-star role on her show.”

Asked if he will regret it in the future, he said: “Never mind years to come, I regret it now.”

  • Brooke Mueller recovering

    SPL127686_076

Charlie Sheen’s wife Brooke Mueller is recovering at a treatment centre after “almost dying”, according to her stepfather.

Mueller is reportedly staying at the Two Dreams rehabilitation centre in North Carolina – but not for addiction treatment, according to her lawyer.

Instead, she is said to be there to recover from a bout of pneumonia, just weeks after the Christmas Day bust-up that led to Sheen’s arrest and charges of assault.

Now Mueller’s stepdad John Fiore said: “She is there. But it’s a recovery place, and it is in a resort setting and the picture I’d like to paint more is that she’s seeking help she wants to, she’s dealing with this.

“This is a lot to deal with and I commend her for finally, you know, she couldn’t go back to the house, what is she going to do? With all the problems and the stress? She’s getting help and her mother is with her.

“I commend her for that. The positiveness of this is that she is recognising that she needs help and she can’t do it on her own.

“The main thing is it is all about the kids. It really is. These kids are gorgeous, I miss them dearly. I was with them for a month straight and they’re just incredible kids.

“They’re young enough and hopefully this will all be behind them. The kids are still in California with Charlie and the nanny.”

Fiore added that she is “majorly stressed” and recovering from battling pneumonia and “almost dying”.
