Mad Men picks Best International Programme gong at Royal Television Society awards

US drama Mad Men has picked up the Best International Programme gong at the recent Royal Television Society awards.
The show, which stars Jon Hamm, January Jones and Christina Hendricks, beat off competition from other shows Damages and Generation Kill to pick up the award.
Talking about the drama, the judges said: “Moving at a glacial pace, and beautifully fetishising the period, this glossy and character-led show cleverly explores the social issues of the time.”
