Last Monday’s jury selection for Keanu Reeve’s upcoming civil trial looked more like an audition than a solemn courtroom procedure.
While most of us dread jury duty, a few lucky folks were probably more than a little pleased to see Reeves in the courtroom.
They were thrilled!
Several of the individuals claimed to have ties to the entertainment industry. This included, but was not limited to, a movie executive, one actress who claimed 6 degrees of separation (yeah right!) from the Matrix star, another actress working as, surprise surprise, a model/bartender, and one fellow who once did the voice for Bugs Bunny - and proved it to the courtroom.
This is LA, after all.
Which all seems wildly appropriate for a case concerning Reeves and paparazzo Alison Silva, who claims he was knocked over by Reeves’ car as the actor backed out of a parking spot.
Does the paparazzo really think that he has a chance in hell in celeb-friendly Los Angeles? HAHAHAHAHA. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

The Pussycat Dolls were recently in Sydney, Australia for the Xbox Sounds event at the Sydney Opera House. The event is a first in a series of Xbox Sounds concerts which will see music artists performing throughout the summer at iconic Australian locations. Also Rachel McAdams is playing American (love interest Irene Adler), which is true to the books. Outside of that, Jude is obviously Brit. Robert was obviously going to be the big one, and we seem to have transcended that particular hurdle.”

Rumors came out that Britney Spears’ paparazzi ex Adnan Ghalib claimed that he had a sex tape featuring himself and the pop star. However, Adnan now tells Star that “There is no sex tape and I’ve never claimed there is one. I don’t know where these quotes I’m supposed to have said have come from. What I do know is they certainly didn’t come from me and they are completely false. I’m extremely upset and distressed and I’m taking legal action… This story has caused a lot of hurt to my family and people close to me. There is no sex tape. That is the end of the matter.”
Aerosmith’s 60-year old front man Steven Tyler not only knows what the internet is but he’s also suing a group of unknowns for impersonating him and his girlfriend on two separate blogs. In a lawsuit filed in LA Superior Court, the rocker claims that some cyber hoaxes have been using his identity, as well as his girlfriend’s, since 2007. In the suit, he claims that the impersonators have posted “pictures … intimate details about [his] private life, including [Tyler's] relationship with his girlfriend, his children and his mother.” He says that the stuff the bloggers wrote about his mom especially pissed him off because she recently passed away. Google removed the sites back in December 2007 but they reappeared on the web anyway.
Canadian singer Michael Buble ended his relationship with his girlfriend of three years this summer, British actress Emily Blunt. The singer is too hot to be single for too long though, he was even spotted with a new girl a couple of weeks after the break up went public. Now, he’s speaking out about his break up with Emily and he has nothing but nice things to say. In a recent interview, he said “Emily was a substantial person and amazing still.” He also revealed that the reason for their break up was their schedules. “In my business it’s tough to go out with another artist because you’re never together. Unfortunate news for Grammy-winning Tejano singer Emilio Navaira. The singer, who is still recovering from major injuries he got from a bus wreck six months ago, was back in the hospital recently after another car accident. Emilio and his wife were taken to the University Hospital in Texas after their car and a truck collided. According to police reports, his wife was believed to be driving at the time of the accident. As for the truck driver, he did not suffer any injuries. Emilio’s agent says that the couple were actually on their way back from rehab when the latest accident occurred. Let’s hope this latest accident doesn’t make it too much worse for the singer’s recovery.
Mariah Carey is trying to give back to the less fortunate as the diva has been named the Global Hunger Ambassador for the Yum! Foundation’s World Hunger Relief campaign. The campaign was created to help raise funds for the United Nation’s World Food Programme. Mariah will have her posters up in over 36,000 stores owned by Yum which include Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, KFC, A&W and Long John Silver’s. The ads and the promotion will be seen in over 112 countries. Aside from asking for donations, Mariah will also be encouraging people to pick up a card at any of the Yum chains which will allow people to download her song ‘Love Story’ via the campaign’s website.

After more than a decade of planning and budgeting, the Nashville music industry is set to build a $95 million senior living community which will be targeted to retirees from the music industry. As of right now, it’s set to open in 2013 in Franklin, Tennessee and will be called The Crescendo at Westhaven. The complex will featured apartments ranging from $300,000 to $650,000 and will even include financial assistance for those who are eligible. Country singer Martina McBride is supporting the project saying “It’s just very unique, and I think it really will fit the needs of so many people who have been involved in the music industry in such a special way.” Maybe she’ll be one of the first to occupy the place.
