Britney Spears is Back on TV

It’s official! The recovering starlet that is Britney Spears will be going back to the set of the CBS comedy ‘How I Met Your Mother’ for an episode which is set to air on May 12. She will be reprising her role as Abby, a receptionist at a dermatologist’s office who got love struck with Ted. The synopsis of her episode ‘Everything Must Go’ says “Barney and Abby realize that they have one thing in common, their mutual hatred of Ted. The new ‘couple’ decides to go to the bar to flaunt their new relationship in Ted’s face. Desperate to get a rise out of his former pal, Barney pops a surprising question to Abby.” Executive producer and co-creator Craig Thomas said that “We’re all so thrilled to have Britney joining us once again.” Neil Patrick Harris must be so happy… not!

Wino’s Parents Want to be Like Brit’s Parents

Amy Winehouse is still keeping up her crazy antics and it’s made her loved ones want to take drastic measures. Wino’s dad Mitch has even come forward to say that he thinks rehab isn’t enough for his daughter and that he wants to do what Britney Spears’ parents did by forcing his daughter into a mental health facility. Mitch told UK’s News of the World “I want her sectioned (institutionalized). The situation is getting out of control. I want her off the street. I don’t think being somewhere for six weeks is going to cure her problems… I want Amy to be somewhere where she will be safe and where no harm can come to her. Obviously as her dad I will try and do what’s best for her. Unfortunately, what I think is best for Amy and what she thinks is best for her are two different things.”

Aniston’s new pop star fella – John Mayer

Jennifer Aniston is dating top US musician John Mayer, it emerged yesterday.

The former Friends star, 39, has been spotted having romantic meals with the 30-year-old singer-songwriter.

Mayer spent “all weekend” with her at the Mandarin Oriental in Miami, Florida.

A source said: “He’s held her hand on at least two very intimate dinners.”

Aniston, who divorced Brad Pitt in 2005, and Mayer also cuddled on a private beach. They then arranged for a restaurant to open early so they could eat in private.

Aniston, in Miami to film movie Marley & Me, was recently linked to Brit model Paul Sculfor.

Mayer has dated actresses Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jessica Simpson.

Tokio Hotel will perform on Late Night with Conan O’Brien

Tokio Hotel have just announced they will perform “Ready, Set, Go!” on Late Night with Conan O’Brien on May 9th.

Thanks to the massive amounts of on-line votes, the diehard Tokio Hotel fans have booked the band another spot on TV with a #2 video (“Ready, Set, Go!”) today on MTV’s TRL.

Tokio Hotel will release the U.S. version of Scream on May 6th.

Amy Winehouse Head Butt

She may look like she’s rail thin and without any strength in her but don’t forget that Amy Winehouse’s beehive may have some sting. Scotland Yard is apparently investigating an incident in which Wino allegedly head-butted a 38-year old guy in London. According to the UK media, the man’s offense was hailing the ‘Rehab’ singer a cab. Be a good Samaritan to Wino and you get a head butt in return – nice. What was she thinking? She could get thrown in jail for that! Maybe that was the point so she could be with her husband. But then again, there aren’t any co-ed jails.

Mariah Carey on Top

Despite not being able to conquer the top spot in the UK, Mariah Carey has garnered the top spot in the albums’ chart in America this week. She only came in at #3 in the UK with the top spot going to The Kooks. Her ‘E=MC2’ record had been projected to sell around 500,000 units in the US. As of Wednesday, it was reported that the album debuted to a pretty massive sale of approximately 475,000 copies sold. Congratulations to Mariah on that one. Now, the countdown is on to see how well Madonna will do on her first week.

Leona Lewis told to shape up for US

Leona Lewis has been told to shape up if she wants lasting success in the US.

The ‘Bleeding Love’ singer, who recently topped The Billboard album and singles charts, reportedly needs a ’sexier’ image so her team have hired Mariah Carey’s personal trainer.

A source said: “Leona has done brilliantly in the US. But some of her team think she needs to be a bit sexier if she wants to have the longevity of female artists like Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson or Madonna. Her looks needs to be more polished. They think that having Leona work with Mariah’s trainer Patricia Gay would be a treat for her because she adores Mariah.”

Leona, 23, will reportedly fly to the Caribbean for ‘intensive sessions’ with Patricia to help get her into shape.

Mariah recently revealed she regularly flies Patricia – who helped Mariah shed around 30lbs – from St. Barts to her New York apartment for their training.

The ‘Touch My Body’ star has insisted she can’t see any similarities between Leona’s music and her own and claims there will never be a “new” Mariah.

She said: “Honestly, there has been so many, ‘This is the new her,’ and I’m like, ‘OK, show me the new her.’ And I’m not particularly talking about this girl Leona, because I only heard her once and I didn’t really hear a true similarity, particularly in the style of music.”

Beyonce and Jay-Z Wedding Papers

The marriage log book at Scarsdale Town Hall confirms, along with their signatures and everything, that Jay-Z and Beyonce did get married on April 4. More and more details are coming out but still no confirmation from the couple! According to the Town Clerk, the license arrived in the mail and was fully executed and solemnized on April 4. The license was sent in not by Beyonce and/or Jay-Z but rather by the person that actually performed the ceremony. There may be trouble brewing for that guy as since it was received later than 5 days after the wedding, the officiator may be charged with a misdemeanor but the clerk says that the person has a good chance of skating out of it.

Losing American Idol Love

Are we getting sick of American Idol? There are several things indicating that it’s the case. Even though over 29 million viewers tune in to the show every week this season, industry insiders are pretty concerned about the declines in key demographics and average total viewers. While Simon Cowell says that it’s because the contestants lack personality, the insiders are saying that it may be show fatigue. They say that hit shows, no matter how popular, usually get diminishing ratings somewhere from season 5 to 7. Idol is currently on its 7th season. Are we really over it? Is it time to pull the plug?

Kirsten Dunst and Ryan Gosling new celebrity couple

Another new A-list relationship looks to be nicely taking shape.

Kirsten Dunst and Ryan Gosling have finally gone public after being spotted snogging each other’s faces off at a New York club last night. Kirsten met the actor shortly after leaving Utah’s Cirque Lodge rehab clinic last month.

A source said: “They were making out publicly. They didn’t even try to hide it.”

The couple were first spotted together on a date at New York’s Freemans restaurant two weeks ago.

An onlooker said: “They were definitely acting like they were on a date. They lingered there for hours.”

Kirsten, 25, has been single since splitting from Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell last year.

Ryan, 27, split from his The Notebook co-star Rachel McAdams in April 2007 after a two-year relationship.

First there was Bennifer, then there was Brangelina, Tomkat and Reesenhaal.

Somehow Dunling doesn’t have the same appeal.

Here’s an update for all Robbie Williams fans wondering how the former Take That oaf is getting on in Los Angeles.

Well, I can report that the beardy pop nob is still completely crackers.

He has been chartering jets to fly into obscure desert towns to attend conferences with victims of alien abductions. The millionaire singer would rather listen to speeches by characters claiming to have had a brush with ET than write more songs.

Surely he has something better to do with his time and money?

Like filling a swimming pool with champagne and inviting the Pussycat Dolls around for a dip?

Inmates plot to maim Potty Pete Doherty

Junkie jailbird Pete Doherty was in fear of his life last night – over a plot to cripple him by heroin suppliers he owed money.

The Babyshambles singer, 29, has been put into the segregation unit at tough Wormwood Scrubs prison in West London for his own safety. Shocked Doherty was told by prison officers of the threats against him by lags who gave him drugs on tick – and is said to have gone “white with fear”.

One insider said: “There are more drugs in here than outside. Pete is being given methadone to help wean him off smack but he is still desperate for it and has got well out of his depth. He has been writing IOU’s to the dealers and getting his gear on credit. But he has not paid up and they have realised they have been stitched up. There are some very heavy people who have lost money and want to hurt him bad. They won’t kill him – but it will be a pan of boiling water job with sugar in it, to scar him good and proper.”

Doherty is expected to be moved to an open prison as soon as space is available

Amy Winehouse’s marriage on the brink

Amy Winehouse’s marriage is hanging by a thread after she snubbed husband Blake Fielder-Civil on his 26th birthday.

The troubled singer, 24, did not visit Blake in jail on Wednesday or send a card in time. Pals say she is living as “a single woman” but will not dump him while he is inside.

Blake is self-harming because she keeps missing visits to Pentonville Prison, North London, where he is awaiting trial on assault and trial-fixing allegations.

A pal said: “Amy does everything she can not to visit. She forgets she is married half the time. There are a few men she is close to and Blake can’t stand it.”

The Rehab star’s dad Mitch said: “It wouldn’t surprise me if Amy and Blake had broken up.”

Fergie gets ‘fire’ from Latin routes

Fergie says she gets her “fire” from her Latin ancestry.

The Black Eyed Peas singer believes she inherited the passionate side of her character from her Mexican grandmother.

She said: “Yes, I have Mexican in my ancestry. My Dad’s grandmother was born in Guanajuato. I’m very proud of it – that’s probably where I get my fire! I love going to Mexico. Cabo San Lucas is my spot. I love to hang out by the pool, go fishing, shop for furniture, and I’ve taken painting classes over there. It’s beautiful.”

However, the 33-year-old singer admits she doesn’t like to put too much emphasises on her Latin roots. She added: “I don’t go around claiming it big time because there are many more full-bred Latinas that are out there to represent.”

Meanwhile, Fergie has revealed she is keen to start a family with fiance Josh Duhamel, and is planning to ask fellow pop star Gwen Stefani for parenting guidance.

She said: “I’d like to ask Gwen some advice about being a mom, because she’s done a really great job.” Gwen has a 22-month-old son, Kingston, with husband Gavin Rossdale, and is currently pregnant with the couple’s second child.

Britney Spears may not have broken any laws in her fender bender on Saturday night but she may have thought that she did and tried to cover it up. In a video shot by CelebTV.com, you can clearly see the recovering pop wreck hop over from the driver’s seat into the passenger seat in the aftermath of the 3-car crash. Did she consider telling people that she wasn’t the one driving only to change her mind later? In any case, everyone knows that Britney isn’t the best driver. It was a minor crash anyway. I’m sure she can be let off.

Billy Ray Cyrus went on the record to say that he won’t be making any cameos on his daughter’s online show ‘The Miley and Mandy Show’ but one place that you can catch the father-daughter team together is at the 2008 CMT Music Awards. The ceremony was held at the Curb Events Center at Belmont University on Monday in Nashville, Tennessee. Miley rocked a very mature look for the red carpet of the awards show. Britney Spears Not Wanted Back

Britney Spears is one unwanted pop wreck on the CBS sitcom that she recently appeared on last month – at least according to one of its stars. In an exclusive interview with AP, ‘How I Met Your Mother’ star Neil Patrick Harris says he doesn’t want Brit back. It was nothing personal. It’s just that he doesn’t think they need recovering wrecks on the show for cheap ratings’ boosts. He also said that he was in the minority that the show doesn’t need stunt casting in order to succeed. There were rumors that Brit might make another appearance on the show after her first one came off great. Producers have reportedly been receptive to the idea. Things aren’t looking good on Neil’s part then.
