Harry Potter’s no more magical than the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Like the crime-fighting reptiles, the young wizard’s run atop the weekend box office was brief, ousted after one weekend by Adam Sandler and Kevin James’ I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. Make no mistake: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix made a lot of money—$32.2 million (second place), per Exhibitor Relations estimates on Sunday. Its overall 12-day take is a very impressive $207.5 million. Since Television sets took over our lives, I consume about half a dozen movies a week. Some 20 years ago there would not have been more than a single movie in a week. There’s no way to keep producing quality movie at the pace and maintain high standards we have come to know these days, they put more and more of special effects to make a complete movie.
